I’ve had good experiences with WEN products in the past, but this pole saw was a major disappointment. The extension lock doesn’t hold — the pole keeps collapsing mid-use, which makes it frustrating and borderline unsafe. The chain tensioning is just as bad. It constantly loosens, requiring adjustment after nearly every few cuts. It threw the chain three times before I finally gave up for the day.The weight of the unit was manageable, but that didn’t make up for the non-stop interruptions. It worked well for the first 20 minutes, then turned into a maintenance nightmare. Between re-extending the pole and re-tensioning the chain after nearly every cut, it just wasn’t worth the hassle.I’ve trusted WEN for years, but this tool was a letdown — especially considering that other reviewers reported the same issues.

The motor lasted about 4 uses over 8 months. It was working well until it suddenly stopped working. The motor didn't struggle. There were no warnings, no symptoms, it just wouldn't start again. I tried different power cords, different power outlets all to no avail.In the end it's cheap enough to say it's still a reasonable bargain.

This little saw works great. It could reach a little longer but then it would be a chore to hold so it’s a pretty good set up as is.

For the price this served me well. But after the first 1-hour job the blade was toast. I tried to sharpen it but that didn't buy me much. I replaced it completely, the thing is now a pretty good limb cutter. Unfortunately the head and pole don't separate to give you a mini chainsaw, but the pole adjust down so most ground level jobs can be accomplished as well.

Needed to cut back shrubbery behind a shed that I couldn’t get to with a bow saw and because of my pacemaker I am unable to use gas equipment, this pole saw was brilliant and easy to use...cut through like a knife through butter!!

the only reason I wasn't going to do a review was I didn't want anyone else to have one of these. I recently borrowed a high end name brand pole saw and used it for the day, and it was no comparison to this little WEN beast, 1/4 of the cost and everything about it is very well engineered.
