I selected this item because it is listed as a certified Whirlpool replacement part. Other cheaper parts had not so great reviews indicating they wore out very quickly, so hopefully these will last the many years that the originals did. I will update my rating if anything changes. I produced a video on my "par64guy" YouTube channel detailing the installation process. The entire process took less than a half-hour.

My dryer: (Amana ALG866SBW)These seem thinner than the ones they replaced and I suspect the soft thumping noise my dryer now makes may be related to these little things. They are expensive for what they are but I dare say stacking two would be better than one for each side of the drum since they are thinner than the original ones. I really don't want to have to replace these again since they involve removing the drum entirely from the machine but if I do, I'll order four instead of two.

Worked well. Unlike original plastic glides (which were still serviceable after two decades), these appear to be leather. My dryer also had a felt pad under the original. When I went to YouTube to find out any need to retain that pad, it showed only the pad itself installed. Later I took front off dryer again to put in home-made felt pads (cut from furniture leg pad), as my re-look at a parts diagram showed the felt pad installed with this type replacement. Not sure how much difference the felt makes, but either way might be ok - the pad does force the center of the glide to be in contact with the drum the most.

I didn't even know that I needed these! They were super-easy to install, and between these and the drum rollers my dryer sounds brand new again.The ones these replaced were almost completely gone, so I would probably expect these to last around 10 years based on the amount of use we get out of our dryer.

Debated whether to replace these but glad I did. They are slightly thicker than the old ones which takes up some of the slack and makes the drum run smoother. Quality seems equal to the original Amana parts. With the new guides and new belt the 22 year old dryer runs smooth and quiet now. I wish all appliance repairs were this easy.

Fits my Maytag MDET336AYW perfectly. My originals were trashed after 9 years of laundry, causing the drum to not only cut the felt seal, but the brackets these are mounted to. New brackets, new glide strips... new dryer!
