Although I haven't used this item very long, so far it's working great. I will repost if it starts to disappoint. Keeps great time, comes on and goes off when it's supposed to, easy to program. I would imagine if I take care of this (bringing inside during the winter) hopefully it will last me quite a while.

I received and reviewed a simple water timer that does not have wi-fi functionality. There is another product in this place now, and I don't know what that is, but my review pertains only to the non-wifi product that once belonged here.I was able to get this timer up and running without much configuration at all. I didn't even open the manual. Within minutes I had two timers set up (morning and night) and I was able to test functionality. The internal switching mechanism seems great, and I deem it trustworthy enough to not flood my basement if it doesn't turn off or leak for some reason. I lost over $600 dollars in new trees last year because of a draught and a hard winter, so I'm not taking that risk again this year. Water for every tree! Yay!

I was truly not trusting this before I even purchased it, it connected quickly to my phone and my daughter's phone. Works great.

I have a couple of flower beds that never seem to survive my vacations. It never fails - I leave and the 100 degree weather hits, and I come back to dead plants. There is not an easy way to install an in-ground irrigation system where i live, and asking the neighbors to take care of my plants is imposing too much. This unit now takes care of that for me. It is easy to program, and connects to my standard hose fittings. The manual override is convenient if you just want to turn it on for a bit outside of a programmed schedule. The display is large and easy to read. Note that to use the rain sensor, the unit should be positioned vertically (numbers up). If you are not connecting it directly to a faucet, this may create a bit of a challenge, as it would need mounted to a surface. The documentation clearly states to no leave this outside when the temperature gets near freezing to prevent it from bursting. That caution is particularly important if you are going to be away from your home. As it is plastic, I would advise keeping it out of direct sunlight as to prevent the plastic from becoming brittle.I like it, and I am looking forward to returning from vacation with not-dead plants! and at around $19, this costs less than one or two plants!

The metal construction feels extremely durable, and the brass swivel inlet ensures a tight, leak-free connection. The timer was easy to set up with clear instructions.

Easy to understand, has manual mode, and functions as expected. Waiting to see how the plastic holds up but it feels water proof and durable

I got this mainly so my garden can be watered when I’m gone for 2 weeks but then I realized there are so many other neat things you can use it for like giving your kids a 20 minute time limit with the hose so they don’t go crazy with the water and leave it on all day. I like that there is a rain detection feature so it will not water if it is already raining. It connected to all my metal hose outlets but one was plastic and it would not connect to that piece even though a regular hose does. Weird. Also I took away a star because mine had a scratch on the screen right out of the box. It’s only cosmetic but when I buy something new I expect it to be packaged well so it’s shiny and nice.

This water timer will change our landscaping this summer! By that, I mean it is going to make our lawn remain green when we go on vacation without over- or under-watering! Every year we leave and if we don’t have some type of water running, within a week and a half everything turns brown. If we do leave water running, we usually end up with a mud hole and that’s not acceptable either. This timer is going to allow us to set it and know that our landscaping will be watered the proper amount for the right amount of time over the course of the week and a half.We got a similar timer last year and used it to water our walnut trees. It was just so handy to set it and forget it. We do not have an extensive inground automatic sprinkler system. We run hoses from the hose bib. This timer will be perfect for preserving our lawn, actually all summer, not just when we’re on vacation.I appreciate the detailed instructions that came with this. I did need to provide my own AA batteries, but that is fine. The display is large and easy to read, and the buttons were very responsive to touch. The main thing to remember with these timers is to learn to convert a 12 hour clock into a 24 hour format. Also, be very familiar with the amount of water flow that comes out of your hose so that you won’t be over- or under-watering anything.Enjoy your freedom and healthy plants that will be well hydrated without you having to think about it once you set this timer!
