Ingredients
- 0.5 cup (120g) butter
- 0.7 cup (100g) powdered sugar
- 2 table spoons (50g) sour cream
- 2 yolks
- 2.5 cups (350g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
Step 1
Add all your ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix gently till a light fluffy texture is reached. Press the dough down into 2 flat circular shapes and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Lay the dough out onto a flat surface with flour sprinkled generously.
Step 2
Sprinkle flour generously on top of the mixture and roll flat with a regular rolling pin. Now take your Algis Crafts Handmade Embossed Rolling Pin and firmly roll over the top of the mixture in a stable manner, keeping a firm grip on the rotating handles.
Step 3
Use your favorite biscuit cutter shape to cut out as many biscuits from the mixture as possible. With the remaining mixture, repeat the process from laying the dough flat on a surface in step 1. Take your biscuit shapes and lay flat and equally distant onto a baking tray with parchment paper.
Step 4
Bake till a beautiful golden brown colour in the centre of your oven is reached and be careful not to overbake as the gorgeous pattern will become less visible! Remove from the oven and let cook for 10-15 minutes. All that’s left to do now is to enjoy your scrumptious bakes with your loved ones!

Lors de ma première tentative, j'ai été un peu déçue, car je trouvais que le motif s'étendait de manière inégale (plus visible à certains endroits et presque invisible à d'autres) mais après l'avoir manipulé quelques fois, j'ai compris comment bien répartir le poids pendant le mouvement de rotation pour atteindre un bon résultat. Je trouve personnellement que le résultat est meilleur sur de petites surfaces, et j'ai préféré rouler sur chaque biscuit individuellement, puis bien le façonner afin d'obtenir un beau motif, plutôt que d'essayer de rouler sur toute ma pâte étendue et d'y prélever des rondelles. La texture de la pâte utilisée a également une incidence, mais au bout du compte une fois bien habituée, je suis très contente de les avoir achetés suis bien satisfaite de leur efficacité.

I only used one of these rolling pin--the smallest flowers-- but the cookies were very pretty. I gave the other two as little gifts to sisters. Working with the rolling pin requires some practice, but the look of the cookies was worth it. I used a full cup of sugar in the recipe that comes with the rolling pin and was glad I did. They're very lightly sweet.

I actually purchased these rolling pins to use for making designs in clay/pottery and so that is what I am using them for. They make beautiful designs in the clay and I am waiting to see the final results after glazing and firing.
