Full time electrician here. Do not buy this product. Doesn’t work on 14 AWG (the most common size wire you would even need this for). Adjustable piece was broken out of the box as well. Do not buy.

Wire strippers are terrible and the wire twister doesnt even twist the wire together. Avoid buying this item

This is one of those products you don’t realize you need it until you’re actually in the situation where you need it. If you have it in your toolbox, then this will cut down waste time in a big way. It’s a great attachment to any drill, which it allows you to simply strip wires quickly and efficiently. Given the price point and effectiveness of this product, I would definitely recommend.

Keeping in mind that this is from the standpoint of a person who generally doesnt mind modding/reworking/"hacking" various things. If you arent a fan of that sort of thing, subtract all stars.OK, the principle is sound, although not at all well explained here. The set screw should be backed out a bit, and then tightened with a wire inserted and the blade tip juuust touching the jacket. This causes the blade to catch the jacket and bite in, where it can only cut the jacket itself because the set screw prevents it from biting into the wire. Obviously it only works with solid wire, and the bit you are stripping has to be fairly straight. The length of wire exposed can be adjusted to a decent degree, although again the mechanism is not well documented. This is what the collar nut is for though, loosening it allows the collar to retract, which in turn allows the center drive shaft to extend out to about 2", then tightened to prevent shaft movement in use.To get to this point, I had to chase the threads on 2 of the 3 dies, replace 1 set screw and oil all the blades, collar nuts, and wireguides. This would be a dealbreaker for someone who doesnt have metalworking tools handy. After all that, they do work well and greatly speed up wire deployment, while giving more consistent results than hand stripping generally does. If you lay a lot of wire, this will add up fast.Been using them for a few days with no issues, quality seems decent enough to survive general use for awhile.-2 for lack of documentation and seemingly, manufacturing flaws preventing correct deployment until metalwork is done, arrives at 3 stars.

This product is made for METRIC wires only and does not work on AWG gauge (US) wires. If you try to strip AWG sizes, it will either leave some insulation or cut into the copper and bind up as discovered by some reviewers. If you want to do the math, see the attached picture calculated by an AI helper. If you use AWG wires, you will need to order another product that is specifically made for AWG (USA) sizes. The description clearly shows that this is a metric tool. For metric wires, this tool set works great & has 3 fittings (SQ2.5, SQ4 and SQ6). The SQ means Square Millimeters and represents the cross-sectional area of the wire rather than the diameter. The amount of insulation stripped can be adjusted by pulling back the collar, sliding the hex bolt to the desired length and finally releasing the collar. The cutting blades appear to be replaceable and are easily accessible. This tool set includes 3 cutting sizes, an extender, a hex wrench and a very nice carrying case.

RECOMMENDATION:Thumbs up: This is a high-volume toolset – don’t try to use it for one-off stripping needsTHE GOOD:1. Once you play with the settings on the cutting blade these strippers will work reliably, but they do not work well out of the box.2. These are best used for really high volume stripping on larger wires. For smaller jobs and wire sizes, don’t bother.THE BAD:1. I found that you need to adjust the blades every time that you change the wire size or type, so be judicious when you decide to use these. Often the good old single-handed auto wire strippers work better and much faster.
