I plugged this into my HDMI output and the receiver HDMI on projector. The video streaming and audio worked very well. The problem was that the signal would drop out around every 10 min for a couple seconds. I tried placing the antenna closer to projector and changing orientation but the drop outs persisted. I decided to return the product.

I got to really test this out during a recent business trip. I'm used to having multiple monitors for productivity so I would use a hdmi cord to plug my laptop into the hotel tv. With this device, I no longer needed to use a hdmi cord and could position myself anywhere in the hotel room. The installation and use were real simple. Streaming didn't seem to be a problem. I did notice with Netflix, though, that whenever I hovered over with my mouse there would be some little interference in the service, but nothing to obscure or make quality worse.Overall, highly recommend this product for anyone traveling and wanting to use the TV as an extended monitor.

This has been a great little device. I provide trainings at different locations and they aren't always set up in a way that is convenient for me. This gives me more freedom when setting up a space for training. I haven't noticed any lag which is something I worry about. The cable that plugs into the TV has plenty of length to get to a power source which is also great. I pack this unit with me wherever I go.

I purchased this HDMI transmitter as a quick, portable method of " casting" my laptop video to any HDMI-enabled monitor or TV. I wanted something compact, easy to set up, and able to quickly and reliably cast PowerPoints (static images) or video for work and play. I am pleased that it worked flawlessly out of the box. I quickly connected it to my laptop and displayed a second screen on my 2K TV. The transmitter/receiver works like any wired HDMI monitor in Windows, allowing you to configure the display in extended or duplicate mode.I tested the transmitter for video quality and stutter by sending a full-screen YouTube stream to the TV without a hiccup. The video was smooth and looked great. Occasionally, I noticed subtle pixelating or compression artifacts. So, to see if it was the internet connection, I downloaded the same YouTube video to eliminate the streaming demand on the laptop's Wi-Fi connection—no more compression artifacts. So, I don't blame the wireless adapter for the minor pixelation.The receiver does get toasty after a short time, but there is a lot of stuff going on in a tiny package. I may experiment and put a small heatsink on the receiver to give it a bit of a break but the heat doesn't bother anything but me. The receiver was easily powered by a connection to the TV's USB output. I used a small USB power adapter to power the transmitter.The wireless display adapter did its job, was simple to set up, and took no time to start streaming.
