It's a basic wood carving/whittling kit. It has a minute long video. The video shows a gloved hand, this comes with tape for your fingers, not gloves. It's got a marked block of wood with a cardinal and a blank block of wood.The pictures are a bit worrisome, cuz they look like the knife is coming toward you. Do NOT do that, always cut away from you. I guess you just make whatever you want with the unmarked block.I'm new to this, so the minute long video and drawing on the one block aren't super helpful. I'll look for how-to videos on youtube. $32 seems like a lot for this.

The 9-piece tool set provides everything needed to create beautiful rooster carvings without overwhelming beginners. I appreciate how the soft balsa wood makes it easy for my 11-year-old to learn carving techniques while still offering enough detail work to keep my 17-year-old engaged. The instructions are clear and we've displayed our finished roosters proudly in our kitchen alongside other handmade farm-themed decorations. The directions on how to make the rooster are just so well done this is truly a begginer friendly set with everything one could need.

Everything included which is wonderful for a beginner. Great quality. Fun for teens and adults, IDK that I'd let a kid whittle something. Great value! Keep your kids off the screen for awhile! Highly recommend!

This kit comes with everything you need to get started whittling. I think the price may be a tad too high for what you get, but I haven't shopped around for others, so I'm not sure what they're going for. I did purchase a pair of protective gloves for my daughter, so that was another $8-$10, but I wanted something more than the stretch/self-adhesive bandage that comes with it, plus if she takes several sessions too work on it she will run out of bandage. So that might be something to think on for an additional cost...or more adhesive bandage roll at least. It does come with another, blank piece of wood, which I thought was nice. Overall it looks good. She hasn't actually used it yet, so I can't comment on the sharpness or ease of it, but should we have any issues I will definitely come back and update this review.

This is a great kit if you are just starting out at whittling. It has everything you need, I would just also recommend some protective gloves as well. One of the blocks is marked with the capybara outline to get you started and the kit also includes an unmarked block so you can do your own thing. The instruction booklet is great!

Fun carving kit! The box is packed full of goodies. The quality of the wood and the knife look fantastic. I'm excited to begin my wood carving journey. The booklet includes step by step instructions on how to carve the rooster, tips for carving safely, and even show you how to wrap your fingers to keep them safe. There is also a tutorial video to help you out! Very satisfied.
