I do wood carving on the side as a hobby and I prefer using wood carving tools with either the palm style grip or handle. these were just too hard and difficult to control and the carve with.

I have been carving for years and these are by far the best tools I have ever had including the leather pouch they come in. The best. Get them if you do small carvings like netsuke and the like. I just might have to buy another set in case I lose this one.

I was not very sure about this purchase, but after I tried them, I could't believe it, they were amazing, high quality tools! very sharp and good material, the leather case is very cute! I highly recommend these tools!

I wanted this set because it has several small chisels that allow you to get into very small areas that the larger chisel sets will not do. When you get these though, you will want to resharpen them. I didn't feel that they were sharp enough for the kind of work I am doing

I was looking for a reasonably priced set of carving knives for relief carving. These fit the bill. They have good heft, are very sharp and have seven different shapes to give you the type of cut you need for different situations. Being one piece, there are no problems with the blade becoming loose in a wooden handle.

I simply love these tools. Very sharp and easy to handle. I used them the same day they arrived. Very adept on hardwoods easily working even against the grain with gentle pressure. Can't wait to continue tomorrow.
