Handmade with some finishing issues but pretty and functional. The product could use some sanding as the holes punched are rather crude, and the hinge portion is rough, with a little time and sandpaper and more lacquer it could really be a lovely. From afar its lovely, and it does what's advertised so I am mixed just wishing a little more time was spent on manufacturing as it could fetch a lovely price if so.

The wood appears to be untreated and covered in fungi or mold. The details are discoloured to green or brown. All the cutouts seems covers and full of sawdust if not more mold. This was suppose to be for books and I expected the wood to be treated with some kind of varnish as it appears in the product photos.

The way this should look and function would be a really lovely stand for holding books of import for folk. BUT... it is too poorly made, and of sub-par materials. I do not mind that it seems hand made instead of factory made. That gives it some uniqueness. As long as it is done well. I think I got the craftsperson who is still in their apprenticeship. It was schlock work. And, the wood that was used... just not clean and properly handled. With some TLC, this can be made to be useable. But it will be a LOT of TLC. And, more importantly, I shouldn't have to in the first place. So, at $30, I recommend you save your money, unless you are looking for a project to work on.

Very bad finishing and the surface are not smooth. Could potentially damage valuable books. Certainly overpriced for such quality.
