Pretty finish, well made, but the “scoop” is way flatter than a typical pasta scoop, so noodles just slipped out immediately. Sadly I returned it. It would be better for poached eggs or something similar.

Wood is smooth and slightly water resistant. I think the scoop looks a little deeper in the pictures, it is actually almost flat. It does work fairly well for spaghetti, though not quite as well as a more traditional shaped scoop.

This has been great for scooping up orecchiette, penne, and cavatappi. It's beautifully finished acacia- smooth, lustrous, and a lovely color. It's significantly shallower in the bowl than pasta forks usually are, so I didn't find it well-suited to dishes with long pastas. My cacio e pepe with arugula was completely unmanageable with it, so I'll be sticking with tongs for my linguine. As it is, I'm happy with it for smaller pasta shapes but if you're looking for something to take your bucatini from the water to the saucepan, this is not it. It is easy to clean up and maintain with a little food-grade mineral oil or beeswax (my preference) every few months to keep it in top condition. Even with its limitations, I still recommend it as a useful tool if you enjoy making lots of pasta dishes like we do.

I've never seen a flat pasta scoop like this before. Normally these utensils are shaped with a bowl end like a soup ladle, but this one is almost completely flat. I must not have paid careful attention to the product photos because I was completely shocked when it arrived. I didn't expect this to work, but it's actually alright. Tonight I made fettuccini alfredo, one of the thickest pasta dishes I know, and this worked well. It's still able to separate and serve long noodles. Unlike my black plastic spaghetti scoop, this doesn't bend or threaten to break under the weight.

When I buy wooden utensils, my first and foremost criteria is that the wood be very smooth. I hate rough wood in the kitchen. According to the photos on the listing, this one is made from Teak and it is indeed smooth throughout and a pleasure to hold, although it just comes in a clear bag and there is nothing identifying it in person as Teak. It also mentions being dishwasher safe, which I find a bit unusual and I would not do, nor would I recommend it with a wood product. My one complaint, as other have mentioned, is the shape - it is very shallow and not conducive to picking up a whole lot of spaghetti. It can be used for other things, but I have plastic spaghetti servers with a deep bowl that are more suited to serving spaghetti.

This arrived in a plastic bag undamaged. This spoon has a kind of matt finish to the wood and I like how the shape of the spoon is sharp and smooth around the edges which ensures that this will be easy to keep clean. The shape of the spoon is not as concaved as I would like but it does do the job. The handle has a good thickness and does feel quite durable. Under item details it does confirm that this is dishwasher safe but I will hand wash this spoon to ensure longevity. Overall I am pleased with this spaghetti utensil and feel this deserves a full 5 star rating.

This is pretty much just what it is advertised to be. It's a wooden pasta spoon. It came protected well and undamaged. And it seems to be well made out of good material. After using it I think I do prefer a spoon with a deeper cup, but the pictures on the product page were accurate.
