My bobbin case was not staying in place, without any obvious damage. Anyway after lot of internet search, to figure out the problem, decided to change Bobbin case. But bobbin case for singer 9960 was 75$ or more. Decided to try this one( it was cheaper option and was mentioned in one of the reviews that it worked for 9970). I gave it a try and it worked like a charm. Super excited!( I usually don’t write reviews, but someone’s else review helped me and hopefully my review will help someone too)

Purchased for singer 6550. Fits, but the knob/stop that keeps it from rotating in the shuttle raceway is to small so it rotates and the needle comes in contact with it.
