The product broke on the first use. The reel unspooled and got caught in the gears and when my husband tried to fix it, the bottom of the reel and some pieces fell into the lake. Extremely disappointed.

This Zebco 101 real has performed well for me for more than a year. It’s easy to use and relatively tangle free. I have several other rod and reels in my arsenal but find myself often reaching for this one because it’s lightweight and shorter, easier to carry than the others.

This was a Christmas gift for my 7 year-old grandson, a step up from his shorter, one-piece Zebco combo. Everything performs as it should. I will update the review after we actually go fishing.

Great starter pole for kids and also great for throwing out on the lake for an adults too. Found myself using this pole to cast under brush with ease

Just 1 star taken off for a clicky drag & lots of memory in the factory line; usually Zebco is pretty good on the line. I'll reinstall 4lb red Cajun & update; I'll give the drag wheel a little oil too, sometimes that helps. That being said, this is a really nice little set-up for panfish, and I'm sure trout. (Trout season's a ways off.) I used a thill 1/16 wobble bobber and a little split shot with 4lb leader & a small hook, it casts a mile, got several hits & a nice blue gill which went back home. Really nice reel. I highly recommend this one.
