This Zhiwhis 702X AM/FM/SW/NOAA Weather Emergency Radio with Bluetooth, Flash Drive, and micro-SD card playback is a Swiss Army Knife of Emergency Radios.Reception on AM and FM is uniformly excellent. It is able to play the strong stations with aplomb and able to dig out the weak stations and play them as well as the strong stations. On WB, it is able to play my local NOAA station with ease equal to the AM and FM bands. On SW, reception is above average and if you connect a long-wire antenna, the added antenna length takes shortwave reception to a new level. It has a 4,000 mAh battery for long play time that is charged with a USB-C cable, augmented with a hand crank and solar panel to help charge the battery. It also has a flashlight that flashes when placed in SOS mode. The SOS mode alarm emits a piercing alarm that is sure to attract help in an emergency. This Zhiwhis 702X has a sleep timer, 120 memory presets, 8 different sounds for background noise (thunderstorm, ocean waves, crackling fire, birdsong, and crickets, to name a few), an excellent well-tuned, 5 watt speaker, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a long antenna, an SOS alarm and SOS flashing light, a compass, and much more. For the money, you get an excellent radio that sounds great and has a high-quality feel in the hand. Considering the quality of the radio portion and the great sound the radio produces, along with the many features it has, this Zhiwhis 702X provides great value for your money.

Well, what do I say? It's another all band radio.Pros:Fantastic audio, loud, crisp, and has a bit of bass. Quite decent audio for its size.Good MW reception. Good, not great.Good FM reception. Again, good, nothing fantastic.OK Shortwave reception. As expected, works OK with an external wire clipped on.Charges on the window sill or outside. Trickle charge, but it tops the battery off.Cons:Weather/Emergency is absolutely awful.Clicks, pops, volume fades from loud to soft.Obvious AGC issue, and fairly unusable if you're relying on this radio for weather. They call this an emergency radio and you can't rely on this for weather.I have $10.00 radios that are flawless on the weather bands. I'm not in a fringe area either.

This radio’s sound impressed me. It sounds like a much larger radio. It’s a AM/FM/Shortwave radio with Weather band coverage. It ha usb-c charging. Along with a hand crank and built in solar panel charging. The hand crank and solar panel actually work. 3 minutes of hand cranking gave an hour play time. With the solar panel in the sunlight for about an hour, I got more than a half hour play time. With a full charge I got 12 hours of music playing before requiring a charge. AM/FM reception if great. I received more stations than my car stereo. Shortwave reception with the telescopic antenna was good. Though some high power AM stations about 30 miles away bleed into the shortwave bands. Still for an emergency radio, this radio should be a go to radio in case of a power outage. Most people want to know what’s going on in emergency situations. This radio is the way to go.Update: January 17, 2025I’ve had a chance to listen to this radio more. FM/AM sounds phenomenal! This has become my go to portable radio because of the small size and how great the music sounds. As for battery life. I’ve played it for over ver 12 hours before it needed its first charge. On the second charge it got almost 15 hours at moderate volume. The volume was high enough to hear it quite well in both the living room and kitchen area. I am really impressed with this radio. This was a very fantastic find. Anyone looking for a good sounding little portable radio, this is it.

This comes in hard plastic shell case lined with open cell foam and an actual instruction book inside. Very nice touch... and a much needed one. The controls for the radio are really spaced around it and placed strangely. A mix of buttons, dials, and switched all around the top and sides of the radio make it hard to figure out exactly where to go to use any given feature. For example, where's the volume? You adjust the volume by turning the little button compass. Neat and compact, but not intuitive.Without the instructions, I would not have been able to figure out how to get to all the features. There were a few times I gave up looking for something, checked the little manual and then discovered "oh, there's a little switch back here too!" So I will have to be careful to keep the instructions stored with the gadget in the little case. The radio shipped with no charge in the battery. This was a bit disappointing, I wanted to try it out as soon as it came but there was not enough juice to power on. That did give me a chance to try the hand crank. I gave it a few hundred turns and had enough power to turn on the flashlight and the radio. I could connect (very briefly) to the blue-tooth, but that drained it the rest of the way. I'll hang it on the charger overnight and see how it works in the morning. There is a solar panel on it, but it is very small. I suspect (with my previous experience trying little solar gadgets) that it will take nearly all day in the bright sun to get a charge in the battery. It comes with a USB C input and USB output for charging it or using it to charge other things. Neat touch that I haven't seen on most survival style radios.perfect in function, flawed in design of controls. If you can remember how all the little controls work, or keep the instructions near, this is a nice gadget. But it is just too strangely set up to be perfect.
