I love this thing! I've been wanting to make lemonade like the kind you get at football stadiums and state fairs, and these are what I always see them using to press the lemons. I cannot believe how much more juice I get from the lemons than using other types of juicers, reamers, etc. It is quite sturdy, though I'd say to make sure you have your hand on the base around the pole of the press while you're doing the hardest part of the press to keep it down. It's a natural way to use it anyway (my hand fell there naturally), so not much of a criticism. Super easy to use... I do not have strong arms so I can truly say the machine does the work. I love that all the inserts are dishwasher safe, I just toss those in my dishwasher and then use a soapy rag to wipe down the frame then it's all clean! So excited to have this for the summer!

The juicer works well; however, the basket had a black oil coating on it which took me several days and many wipings to remove. I contacted Zulay, and they said it could be a manufacturing or shipping oil. Shipping oil?Anyway, they did offer to send me a new part, but I had already spent a great deal of time and energy cleaning it, so I declined a replacement.Just be aware to check for what looks like an engine oil coating on your parts before juicing, otherwise you could be drinking petro-chemicals with your orange juice.Update, 3/9/25:The shaft of the machine that rises above the upper part of the compression cone is lubricated with the same oil. The oil splatters down on top of the upper cone over time. I was using it every day and juicing at least 4 lemons a day or more. Eventhough I would wipe the upper part of the cone, I was worried this oil would eventually find its way into the juice. So, I asked for a refund. They were very kind and offered a full refund and didn't require that I send it back. Thank you.Another thing that bothered me about this device is the metal on metal friction that is generated while juicing. Overtime, very small fragments of metal will find its way into the juice. If you follow Medium Medium information, metals with viruses in the body cause cancer. So, I bought the Medical Medium recommended citrus juicer instead which doesn't have any metal on metal components.

Although its up there in price but its will last a long time. The unit is well made & very durable. Since I bought the taller version to accommodate my containers, it made is easy to topple over but holding the frame or the base when moving the lever it does the job efficiently. It came all adjusted for the average thickness of a citrus fruit peel, I don't have to re-adjust the unit. I drink of a lot of lemon juice for daily consumption and this unit made my life easier to squeeze a batch of lemons or tangerines. I highly recommend this product. Its probably the last manual juicer you will buy.

We absolutely love this citrus press. We've used the hand squeezers and the attachments that go on the KitchenAid, this exceeds those by far. We're not heavy juice, but I think we'll end up drinking more juice with this round. I was cooking cilantro lime rice for about 500 people so I was able to immediately put this to the test. We juiced roughly 200 lemons and limes. It took about 30 minutes and yielded 14 cups of juice. It would take even less time if you were just using lemons. The press is very easy to use. It doesn't take as much effort as you would think. We got the tall version which is needed for juicing large amounts. This should be a staple in every kitchen.

This is pretty heavy duty and dies a great job. It is NOT as easy to clean as it claims. The two part juicer gets stuck together and pulp gets stuck in it. The pull down mechanism doesn’t come off and can be a pain to get fully clean.

Zulay Extra Tall Orange Juicer - Manual Orange Juice Squeezer:Holy Moly! This is a thing of beauty. Ease of operation. Total mechanical advantage. I have wanted something like this for so long. I would buy lemons with the idea of juicing them with a handheld juicer, but that was never good and I wasted a lot of fruit without much success. Plus I have wrist problems that make the handheld ones difficult. Not so with this beauty. This is strong and powers through the fruit, leaving a desiccated peel, seeds and not much else. The night I got it I put a grapefruit in it and it just blew my mind. And, that was far and away the best grapefruit juice I'd ever had. Now, there are a couple of things I would change. First of all, the top 'cup', the part that comes down and actually does all the pressing. That is very difficult to clean. And second, if the handle is not exactly up as far as it goes, it will come down. Thanks to the elegance and simplicity of this design, I was able to come up with a couple of workarounds and though not faithful to the beautiful design (yet), they are functional and so I get full points for that. Sometimes function is more important than form. There are two screws that I replaced with knurled thumb-screws and now I can remove the top cup press part without tools. The first one goes to the shaft that goes through the top part of the cup and the second one which is a larger size, replaces the set screw that is on the back of the cup shaft that connects it to the vertical rod. The next thing I will probably do is to drill a hole in the top of the vertical rod and insert a roll pin or small stainless dowel pin so the rod doesn't just drop through when I disconnect the cup.Sounds like a lot of work, but it's not really and that part definitely needs to be cleaned. With the mods I've made, it a snap to remove and replace the cup. When the stores open again I will head out and try to find knurled thumb-screws that compliment the original design, because it really does look nice out of the box.OH! and the handle falling down part. If it were me, and now that I own it it is :-D I would put a latch or something on the fork that would prevent it from coming down. As it is, I just grabbed one of those fat rubber bands you get with broccoli and put that around the fork. When it's in the upright position, it is nothing for my finger to loop it over the vertical rod and that holds it up there. It's just as easy to un-loop it.All in all, despite my need for mods, (and possibly because of the ease of making the mods!) this was an excellent purchase and I would recommend it to anyone who is serious about juicing citrus. Great design Zulay!
