Nice, high quality tool in my opinion. I was actually impressed with how well this heat gun works. It definitely gets hot! This is to replace a cheap one I had that quit working. It seems to be made with quality materials and built to last.It does the job it was meant to do, and is handy to have available when I need it. I do recommend this product. Good addition to your tool box.

Do you yearn to control the mighty powers of Hephaestus with the mere twitch of a single finger? Do you dare maximize the gift of Prometheus upon countless applications, be they great or small? Do you challenge the awesome power of brimstone itself upon any task, from removing paint to heat-shrinking tubing to welding the very atoms of ABS plastics themselves? Then look no further than this Shop-Air's 1200 watt heat gun, which not only has fantastic sci-fi ray-gun looks, but enough coil-heating, air-blasting power to make the sky itself scream in bloody terror at the thought of being ripped through the intensity of this marvelous electric tool!Metaphors aside, it's a nice basic heat gun; it's ETL safety-rated, it's from a trustworthy and known brand, it's easy to use, it includes some nice accessories including a carrying bag for all of it, and it can even stand stably upright for hands-free operation. The 6-foot cord ends in a plug that's polarized yet suffers no pesky grounding prong, so as long as you use a socket and quality extension cord with the proper rating, this is easier to use than most electric tools. Even in its first few uses, it got well hot enough for my uses after just a few minutes on the low setting, I didn't need the high setting but flicking it to high impressively made it glow brighter as it blew harder. What's really great is the selection of four nozzle adapters, the reducer is my favorite as I'm using this for finer work, but there's also a concentrator, a flat nozzle, and a reflector nozzle. Everything stacks nicely into the bag, and firmly attaches onto the heat gun's metal hellmouth. If I had one drawback for this set, it's the instructions and packaging not clarifying which adapter is which, if you don't know them on sight you'll have to rely on the Amazon listing or other outside information for help. The instructions are very simple, and another drawback is that they mention a temperature knob which this model doesn't have, it merely has a two-level toggle switch.

This is a well made heat gun that is well balanced and is fabricated with high quality materials. The plug attachment goes on securely and provides balanced "feet" to keep the heat gun pointed up. I turned on the unit outside and my IR thermometer gave me readings of the low setting at about 250 degrees, but it was hard to see the thermometer reading in the photo. I brought the unit back into my work shop and set it upright on the high setting and let it run for two minutes, then began to take readings. The reading you see of 324 was the last reading at which point the heat gun started to make a burning electronics smell and began to smoke just a little. I turned the unit off. I can see that it will get hotter, and that it will smoke as it does so, but do I believe the 1000 degree plus temperatures as advertised? No way. I wouldn't feel safe letting this get over 500 or 600 degrees, which is plenty hot for a huge variety of tasks, including some they list at much higher temperatures. I think the product marketing people got a little temperature happy with their ratings, in competition with other units. This thing is made of plastic. There is no way the internal portions can heat up to more than 1000 degrees and it remain solid.Truth in Advertising, or it it will cost you a star.Four Star Well Made High Quality Heat Gun

A heat gun , in my opinion, is up there with a screw driver and ladder when it comes to tools that all home owners should have. It can do plethora of time saving tasks. This heat gun hit all the marks. It is light, it gets hot very quickly, it has two modes for different applications, and it has an integrated stand. The included bag and attachments are just the cherry on top of this well made heat gun. The reflector nozzle worked wonderfully at scrapping paint off an old door I plan to reuse, while the heat was softening the old paint.Overall, this heat gun works incredibly well. I highly recommend.

What can I say? This heat gun works as promised. I like that it comes with a carry bag for easy storage. I also like that it has a removable power cable that helps keep the line from crimping at the handle. This kit comes with four nozzles for different applications. I mostly use it for either paint removal or heat shrinking.Highly recommended.

OK, yeah, you could whip out the hair dryer from the bathroom to seal window plastic, shrink-wrap things, or heat adhesive to free up wires or connections, but let's face it: That takes a long time, and you look pretty silly standing at your workbench with a pastel-colored Conair blow-dryer waiting for it to get hot enough to work. Get yourself a real heat gun! This heat gun comes with a nice bag for storage, and all you'll need to get started blasting hot air at stuff. And it works fast! Plug in, turn on, and in moments you're shrink-wrapping like a mofo and loosening adhesive like a pro. It's a good tool to have in your collection. You get a quality build, fast-heating, variable temperatures, and nice accessories. This is a good choice! Five stars.
