Does not stop or limit dog barking. We tried different areas and frequencies and nothing worked.

These work great so far. Unfortunately I need a third one. My incessantly barking Miniature Schnauzer no longer barks at the front door when deliveries or guests arrive and doesn't bark at the big side gate when people walk past the house. But, she's figured out that I haven't protected the other little side gate on the other side of the house. She never used to bark there because she doesn't get as good a view of the street, but now it's her go-to spot. I guess I need to buy another. I charged these up, picked a frequency and hung them on the wall and gate and they worked immediately. Highly recommended.

These bark deterrent devices work pretty well with my 6 yo dog and are easy to use. They take about 2-3 hours to fully charge up and should last about 30 days before needing a recharge. How it works: While on standby, the indicator on the device blinks a slow and steady red. Once it detects barking, the device emits a high frequency warning signal, along with a bright flashing white light. There are 3 selectable frequency ranges, and the instructions recommend to change up the frequency every week or so to prevent your dog from becoming accustomed.Pros: The device works quickly and consistently, calming down my dog when he goes on a barking rampage. The trick is to make sure it's set up at the dog's eye level (and not too high up like on a kitchen counter). The devices come with a mounting tab and hardware to make this easy. I personally can't hear the signal, but I can tell when it's going off as the flashing light is extremely bright, and my dog immediately quiets down. I also like that the device is rated windproof and waterproof, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. There are 2 devices included in this set, one for inside the house and one for the backyard. So far, the coverage seems pretty good.Cons: This device can be sensitive and will pick up on other sounds besides barking. I was rearranging my pots and pans, for example, and the clanging noise set off the device. I have also caught it going off on loud exuberant laughter. Please be cognizant of that and adjust accordingly for your dog's comfort. Turn off the device temporarily if necessary. Another thing to note is that the instructions don't recommend use if you have multiple dogs.

While the listing says this is good for large dogs and to use one per dog, the included instructions say it's not for more than one dog, and not for dogs over 50 pounds (?). If it hears a loud noise like a bark, it emits a loud noise that is mostly inaudible to human ears. This can both distract the dog from its focus and dissuade it from barking once the dog realizes the trigger. This can be confusing to dogs if there are multiple dogs, because it will be less obvious to them that their bark is what sets it off (sometimes it's the other dog's bark.) The device has a white strobe to let humans know when it is triggered, which is very helpful because sometimes humans make noise that sets it off. For example, I had it sitting on the stairs by the front door because the dog barks in that area, but if I step too loudly on the stairs or shut the door too hard, the device will trigger. Also, sharp noises like putting a pan on the stove or coughing can set it off. Still, while we do have two GSDs (over 50 lbs.) they have helped some. I think at least one of our dogs has figured out the trigger, because she tries to bark more softly sometimes. Unless it's the UPS guy, who still gets the full bark even if he's half a block away. The device recharges easily from USB.

Did not work at all on my Golden Retriever and the advertisement is very misleading. The ad lacks the fact that these should not be used on dogs over 50 pounds and yet they show a Golden Retriever in the ad which I've never had a Golden that didn't get above 50 pounds. And at this point, my puppy is 6-1/2 months and 65 pounds, so shortly it really won't work if it's based on weight. (Not sure what weight has to do with it though.) It does show flashing lights when it's activated, but my dog would bark right through it so I have no idea what it was emitting, but obviously it wasn't enough to deter my dog from continuing a barking spree.

This bark deterrent device has been working so far. I put them behind the wooden fence facing the neighbor with the two barking dogs. They have been barking less. The other day the dogs were barking and I noticed one had fallen down so I put it back and the dog stopped barking again. This is exactly what I wanted. Instructions are easy to follow. I did take it inside as I was not sure if it was going to last during the upcoming rains. Dogs aren't in the yard in the rain anyway and I will use it every time they start making noise.
