There are two wires, white and black that are 120 volts per wire and a red wire that is the neutral in my house. This unit only has in and out for two wires so can't use. Also, only uses military time and not user friendly to make time adjustments. The unit came turned on thus using the internal battery and no way to shut it down without taking apart. Returning since I have no use for this and will pay for the actual hot water timer. My mechanical one is working fine, but due to power outages that throws the time off, I thought I would try a digital one with battery backup, but unless 220 lines in the US has changed to only two wires, this is usless.

I am impressed at the ease of programing, accuracy of operation, ease of use and silent. It does mount on a DIN rail which was no problem for me but if you don't have plan on getting.

I'm a technician that loves relay and trigger functions. This bastard is very bleak non the less on simple function to control a simple task . I need better instructions.

This 220v timer has only a single pole SPST relay and does not cut power to both live line feeds, so one side will always remain live. You need a DPST relay for a water heater.

Read the picture this unit is only for 50 hz locations only! Most of the United States is 60hz you will burn the unit up trying to use it in most states

Water heater, 10 amps at 240 V. Works perfectly. Must make sure it set to "Auto" or it won't automatically overide and water will be cold lol. Easy programming and install. If you put a pilot light on the load "0 amps" you'll get a ghost voltage and the pilot will stay on.

This is advertised at 30A, but I don't think it can handle 20A. Inferior components. I do not recommend. I just tossed it in the trash, didn't even bother getting a replacement of refund.
