Appear very sturdy and really like that they twist open to install recovery strap and close. Definitely makes it easier than multiple shackles. Haven't had to use it yet but the specs show it should have no problem

I recently got these 3/4" split shackles for use with my 4WD SUV. Our family property is in a rural Appalachian mountain area and one of the gravel roads has had a lot of saplings and trees blocking the road that we need to use to bring in supplies to build a cabin. Specialized tree cutting vehicles are very expensive due to the rural area, so my idea was to fell the trees in the road and pull them to the site using the SUV. These shackles allowed us to use our trailer hitch as well as with a winch and chains to pull the small trees where they were needed. These shackles are solid and worked perfectly, saving a lot of money. A few drops of Tordon RTU on the stumps effectively destroys the root system, completing the job.This shackle held up well, giving us plenty of options to handle the small trees. This small investment really paid off and they will go into my kit for other more traditional tasks. The flexibility cannot be overstated.Bottom Line: These shackles were a perfect way to do more than just standard recovery work. They’re well-built, easy to work with, and have handled everything I have thrown at them, saving me a ton of money. I recommend them.

For those that might want to perm mount this on your truck or whatever, it comes with anti-rattle washers and has set screws to keep it form loosening. They are really high end looking, and would compliment pretty much any truck.When it comes to functionality, these are surprisingly good, the design is such that there are nubs on the 2 halves, so when closed they act as one, especially when pulling something which will help squeeze them together. They look and feel very strong, but this design makes them stronger than you would think. i used this to pull a dually toing a 35 foot trailer out of the mud with my skid steer, and it's still in the exact shape as the one we hadn't put on yet. That was an insane amount of tension, that i kinda expected to bend or break the thing, but it was all we had at the time.. I'm super impressed.

Wow, these shackles really live up to the "heavy duty" description! As soon as I took them out of the package, I could tell they were serious business. They feel incredibly solid and sturdy in your hand. You can just tell they are well-made and should handle some tough jobs.I've been using these around my farm and yard for various tasks, and they've been absolutely perfect. They are straightforward to hook up and use, which is great when you're trying to get work done. I particularly like how the pin nuts lock securely into place. It gives you that extra bit of confidence knowing things are properly fastened when you're pulling or recovering something.The only thing I wasn't thrilled about happened right when I opened the package. The little magnets on them were already chipping and flaking a bit. They still function to hold the rings which is a neat feature, but it did create some small magnetic shards that I had to clean up. Not a huge deal, but slightly annoying.Overall though, I'm really pleased with these shackles. They feel incredibly strong, are easy to work with, and seem like they'll last a long time. Despite that minor issue with the flaking magnets right at the start, they perform exactly as needed. If you need some robust shackles for heavy work, these are a great choice, just maybe check the magnets when you first get them.(4.5/5 stars)
