I wanna start off saying, I have no experience with Swamp coolers, this is my first purchase of one, I got it cause I recently moved to a house that is hot because theirs really no shade, because of this I've been having a hard time sleeping comfortably nor just relaxing at home just cause how hot it can get & the sun targets down on the home & summer for me is just right around the corner.Let's start off with the good, I like the design, I think it is slick looking especially in that black color, good for small rooms like mine, plus I play video games & my console sometimes can make my room hot if I play long gaming sessions.It is light & easy to carry but of course once you put water in it, it'll be heavier.The remote is nice I guess but for me I don't need it given my room being small, plus the buttons don't feel good when pressing, but that's me just me nit picking.I like the settings you can do for it, like setting a time for it to turn off when sleeping, I like that feature alot, I've been sleeping little more comfortably because of it but I don't need the thing to be on all night.In terms on how the air feels w/ Ice & cold water, it can feel good I won't lie, but you need cold water to get the full affect, say if my room was 78 degrees, I wanna say it drops by like 4-5 degrees, less if no cold water added, only when the air is blown on you, Key word* air blown on you.& lastly ill say the water does seem to last pretty good before changing or adding new water, I'd say full tank will last 6-8 hours depending on the settings I guess.Now let me tell yah the cons & mind you never had a Swamp cooler before so maybe this is something i wanna mentioning but you do have to maintain it for sure, if you want consistent cold, you'll have to baby* it every now & then, like changing the Ice packs every 2-3 hours.Also If you have it on the floor like i do, you will have to bend your knees & get on the floor the change the water, etc. This is my biggest complaint, if you could, my advice would be have it high on a platform to make it easy but the "floor stand" is pretty big by like 15-17 inchs, but on top of that while it's easy to pour water in it with* the back lid that it comes with, you'll more likely need a rag to wipe up the spills, for me it happened everytime.Conclusion:I personally like it for what it is, I am curious how it's going to hold up during the real hot summer months, but since I do have the AC on at decent temperature, plus with this Swamp cooler, it should give me enough cool for my satisfaction, functionally it all works, easy to set up. & I guess for my first Swamp cooler, it not bad.
