This is the second one I bought. Love it so much. My first one my dad came to visit, he lives off grid and he fell in love with it and I gifted it too him. He too loves it and uses it everyday.

Despite the description text, " NOAA weather alert radio," this is not a weather alert radio. It receives NOAA weather stations, but it does not listen for, detect or notify the user when a hazardous weather alert is issued.I took a quick look at the product manual (the model is MD-107 despite what the Amazon product description says). The product manual is concise, well-illustrated, literate and helpful. It said to vigorously crank the radio for one minute prior to first use, so I did that. I turned the radio on and it was 100% dead. I say 100%, but there was a faint glow from the flashlight.Don't panic.I plugged in the charging cable and the radio started charging at about .16A (really slow) but after 5-10 minutes it jumped up to 1.5 A and the radio charged normally. Once charged, everything worked.Flashlight: It focuses to a particularly sharp point, but there is enough side illumination to walk comfortably outdoors in the dark. Reading light: OK. SOS alarm: OK -- not the loudest I've seen, but loud. Compass: OK, but keep it away from the speaker magnets.Note on charging: I have quite a few radios, some of which can be charged with USB-C. None of those other radios work with a USB-C power distribution charger (this is an advanced high-power charger that uses a USB-C cable on both ends). This Axyebi MD-107 is the ONLY radio I've seen that works with a PD charger -- it's not fast (about .75A) but it works. That means my car, with only USB-C charging ports, can charge this radio. I'm very pleased.Operation: totally intuitive. The manual isn't needed.Radio antenna: Unusually long for an emergency radio: 21". NOAA weather radio reception: good - very good. FM: Average. Stations are pretty close together on the dial. AM (MW): below average but adequate. Emergency radios generally do poorly on AM, and this one does better than most of the emergency radios.I have 4 emergency radios, some priced as double thins one. This is the one I'm going to use.

Much smaller than i was expecting and not quite sure about the quaility. Haven't used it enough to figure out how dependable it will be. Fingers crossed all the great features will withstand the test of an emergency

I really like this little radio, it does everything that I want it to do. I like the way the dial lights up when you turn it on, gives it kind of a retro look which I like. It is solid and well built. Very pleased.

The light is bright. Takes a long time to crank or solar charge it, but you can plug it in to charge it. It seems to hold a charge for a long time. It's been like 5 months & I've only plugged it in a couple times to keep the full charge. I've been using the flashlight for several days and it still shows a full charge. Idk if the mA/hrs is correct. I cant remember if I've tried to charge a phone phone with it. I'm saving the lifespan for emergencies. Buy a couple of bicycle chargers to supplement it for when SHTF.

I bought this to altert me about storms, huricanes or tornados. But I pack it around the house playing music all the time. It is solar powered with USB charger to charge it too. It holds a charge for about a week or so.It reminds me of when I was a kid and had those cheap transitor radios we used to pack around. Lol.

I use this all the time! I have dropped it plenty and not been the softest with it. Not a problem in sight. Evan though it receives a lot of use, I have only had to charge it twice now! Definitely earned it's spot in my bug out 🎒 😎
