The problem is the amount of air it pushes out isn't much more than what already comes out. The only benefit is it can draw a little bit of cool air up when your system fan is off, but the only fan speed that seems to do much of anything is the highest level, and it's really loud. When your system is blowing air, it actually seems to hinder the air coming out. If it pushed 2x more air while being 1/2 as loud, I'd give it 5 stars, but as-is, it's hard to tell if it does much. If you have a vent where nearly no air comes out, maybe it can help, but if you have a functional vent, I don't think it will help much. Another problem is that massive border around the open space that contain the slats/fans actually covers up about 30-40% of your vent, which blocks airflow.

My master bedroom is the coldest in winter time and the hottest room in summertime in my house so I decided to try this when I saw an article about similar item. I plugged it in and adjusted it according to my preference. I went to sleep that night without feeling warm. I was pleasantly surprised! It really works. The only negative that I can say is it is pricey than competition. I also found out that HD is selling it at a lower price than this one.To the seller: please match the price of the local market so we don't have to return your product, lol!

As a loft, it’s at the top of the house and furthest away from the air handler. Heat rises and ceiling fans only do so much. I could feel air at the vent when the handler was running but never got enough flow to cool the loft. This unit helps with out any upgrade to the HVAC or an additional (window) unit. It makes enough difference to allow me to use the loft as an office on hot days.Having it pull all remaining cool air out of the line is useful and I now feel the cool air from across the room when the handler is running. The temperature display is interesting to see the real temperature of the duct air.The fan can be heard when used above level 6 and I find I can get good results at level 6. Good to know I have more fan speed if I need it.Fit well and easy to install.

Fan is built well and remote is great, but the thermistor setting stops working after a few weeks. It would try to turn on regardless of temp setting. Passed return date and ordered a second one to try my luck. It was clearly an used item. Remote battery pull tab is missing. Missing instruction and the magnetic sticky plate for the remote. Will return this one but stuck with first one as an on/ off only fan.

We have a small bedroom that gets too hot and there is no return grid to get rid of hot air when the door is closed. There is one floor vent in that bedroom that the cold central air comes out of. We made rectangular holes in the drywall across the room from the floor vent. One hole is inside the room and one is a little higher outside in the hall, a few inches from the ceiling. We put the ATOM NEXUS outside in the hall, and luckily there was a power outlet nearby. We put a fancy grill inside the room. We put a piece of carboard under the inside grill, connecting the 2 drywalls, to keep the air under the grill from being part of the space. It works very well. The room is much cooler. So rather than using the ATOM NEXUS as a boost to the air vent on the floor, we used it to make a powered return vent. We didn't have to do any construction or make a metal vent through the drywall. Both the ATOM NEXUS and the inside grill just fit in the drywall holes and stayed there. We didn't even use the 2 screws that came with each of them. I bet putting in a metal duct from inside the room to outside in the hall would be even better. We are proud of ourselves for this unusual solution, but we feel very stupid because we don't understand how the "cooling trigger" works. We turned off the heating trigger, to make it simpler. According to the instruction manual you set the cooling trigger temperature to where you want it, and the fan comes on when the probe inside the ATOM NEXUS registers a lower temperature. This does not make sense. We are still playing with what that setting should be. But the fan is on now and that's all that matters to me. The remote control is handy, but we have to stand on a ladder to see the numbers on the front of the ATOM NEXUS.

I've only written a handful of reviews on amazon after using this site for over a decade. I decided to write a review on this product because it solved my problem. The search is over. This product works. Buy it.My home office on the 2nd floor, facing east would get SO HOT in the summer, constantly sweating. The AC had to be on 24/7 and the basement and main floor would be freezing, it sucked.I installed this, and within 24 hours the *entire second floor* was much cooler. I believe the increase in pressure lead to more of the return air on the 2nd floor being used and had a positive effect on the whole floor, not just my now very comfortable and cool office.Something to be aware of is on modes 5-10 it is not silent but it's also not loud, it's just like a fan running which you probably are used to anyway if you're sweltering so I don't see what the big deal is.Also it's kind of hard to make the cable itself invisible if that's important to you, but for me I just wanted my room cooler and this 100% solved my problem.Very happy!

Our nursery is situated on the second floor, facing away from the morning sun. It gets pretty chilly in the mornings, especially when winter sets in. With just one vent on the upper level, our heating system was struggling to keep up. We were considering either installing a second heater or finding a more effective solution.Luckily, we stumbled upon this fan booster, and let me tell you, the remote control it comes with is just fantastic! So convenient! I can adjust its settings without even leaving the cozy comfort of my bed. No need to get up and fiddle with buttons, just a gentle press and we're enjoying a warm, comfortable room. The remote for this fan booster is designed with such user-friendliness, making it a breeze to stay cozy and convenient even in the chilly California winter. This fan booster can get a bit noisy at its highest setting, but compared to a window AC, the noise is minimal, especially considering the warmth it provides.I can only imagine how handy this fan booster will be in the summer months! We're expecting that cranking it up to the max, along with an extra fan, should keep the room at a comfortable temperature, possibly even cooler than the scorching California heat outside.Overall, this is a practical product that works year-round. While it won't instantly warm or cool a room, if you're looking for cozy warmth in winter, refreshing coolness in summer, and a simple, cost-effective solution, this fan booster is definitely worth a try. Kudos to the company for providing such a practical product!

This vent booster fan works well. It takes a little tweaking to get the right temperature setting based on your HVAC system. I used this in my son's bedroom which has always been cooler and warmer than other rooms in the house based on what I believe is the exterior walls of the house. We tried it in fan speed 10 and it was too loud for him so adjusted it to speed 8 and it was fine.A great benefit that I see is that after setting the temperature setpoint, when your HVAC system shuts off, the fan continues to run until the temp threshold is met....which blows the conditioned air that you paid for that is in the ductwork. This just adds to the efficiency that is increased. I highly recommend giving this a try for those areas that need a boost in your home to add to the comfort level in your home/office etc
