Great charger and the construction is very durable but you have to pay attention to the housing. Heat protection and very easy to install. It comes with a small storage bag that comes in handy but it is a tad bit flimsy. Great buy for the price.

This 16A Tesla charger is a reliable and compact Level 1 charger, perfect for keeping in your car for on-the-go charging. It plugs into a standard 110V outlet, making it convenient to use in many locations where 220V outlets are hard to find. While it doesn't charge as quickly as higher-level chargers, it's a great backup option. It's compatible with all Tesla models, including the Model Y and X, though some may find the 16.4ft cord a bit short for certain situations.

It’s hard to set up the charging amps, I followed all the directions but still I can’t set up the amps. I’m returning it and order another brand.

Definitely a good lightweight portable charger fit for a Tesla! I use a model Y and it’s as easy to use as plugging it in and boom it charges. It takes a long while but it’s more for overnight charging than instant charging. Clean design and pretty long chord length! Definitely recommend

This is a very basic but perfectly functional mobile charger for Tesla. I keep it in my trunk 'just in case'. It has a NEMA 5-15 plug which you can use anywhere. The trade off is, of course, output and charging speed. You can adjust it up to 16A and it has a timing function. It has all of the safety certifications you need (eg: overheat, overvoltage, leakage) and is UL lested. It's well made and functional for what it is. Personally, I prefer a more robust charger for home user but it is nice to know that if I need it I have one in my trunk that will literally work anywhere. Recommended!

The Alxum 16 Amp Tesla Level 1/2 Charger is a decent charger because of the size, the material finishes on the cable are good but the charger itself feels like a cheaper plastic housing. The cable should be thicker to accommodate for the heat, it does get quite hot while charging at 16 amps! The cord length is ok, would like it to be longer! It has a nice small Tesla connection handle with a decent gripping surface. It weighs a light 4.08 pounds!A major issue with this device is that they did not include a cable adapter to actually achieve the stated 16amps. Coming off the standard wall outlet plug through the inlet cable to the charger it only can do 8 amps. The other issue is that this inlet cord is not thick enough as a supply source to the charger, it should be a lot thicker to handle the energy. This cord is 0.422 inches in diameter while the outlet cable from the charger is 0.529 inches in diameter. I don’t understand the reasoning and thought process behind making the source cable thinner than the output cable. Its not like the energy gets stepped up!It is nice that this device includes a digital readout that tells you information from this unit such as time on charge, voltage, and temperature. Sure, the Tesla tells you some of this information, but the temperature is an essential piece of data which it can’t tell you and because there is the ability to put adapters to use with CCS1 and J1772 connections you could use this with something other than a Tesla. This device is plug and play. I was using this to charge up my 2021 Tesla Model Y and it was sustaining 16 amps. I have this connected through an extension cable that is coming off of a 50-amp breaker and I had attached it to a 6-50 wall adapter to allow for the full 16 amps. The handle gets warm after hours of charging.Unlike another Alxum listing, this listing statements about temperature range of 185 degree is actually reflected on the sticker on the back of the charger. The 32 amp version showed the temperature operating range is up to 185 degrees Fahrenheit on the listing, while the back of the device actually shows 176 degrees Fahrenheit. This is a really high operating temperature which is much needed improvement because I have seen competing products hit temperatures as high as 141 degrees Fahrenheit in my Texas garage over the summer. The device definitely needs that bandwidth in order to not fall to far outside of the operating temperature because I had an EVDance charger that gave out after a while from hitting 141 degree highs and then started throttling the charger down to 118 degrees at the max, which dropped my power transfer rate to as low as 29 amps. I’ll see if this charger lasts because the materials seem to be inferior to the EVDance when it comes to the housing. The carrying case is made out of a durable nylon that looks and feels good, and easily accommodates for the size of the charger and cable. It has a nice rubberized bottom to keep from slipping. The handle is lacking though. It is just a standard piece of nylon with no space in between the bag and the handle.

I was able to acquire a grouping of these to work up a head-to-head kind of comparison but that is going to be a bit more complex than I can pull off alone. It's not an off-the-table idea by any means, but it is going to be a bit to have data for anything like an in-depth data set. So far however, I can speak to price, ease of use and complexity of installation - for those requiring that, versus just a standard 110/120 plug, like this one.It is on the lower end of the price range for those under 200$, but cheaper also means slower to charge in most cases. This is an overnight charge unit, level 1s aren't really stacking up like the EV industry as a whole, needs for. This type is good for taking along to those holiday visits to relatives and such excursions who don't have charging capacity. Some charge is sure to be preferable to none.
