I was going to return this item, because it is junk, but then I saw that there would be a $20.00 restocking fee, so I wouldn't get any money back. The machining on this mount is imperfect, so the parts are not interchangeable with another identical mount I bought some time ago from another source. The spring is set at such a high tension that I could not compress it enough to get the pieces together (after separating them with great difficulty). So I am stuck with this mount. Not to be defeated, though, I spent a fair amount of time compressing the spring in a vise and bending the mount so I could get it to work to some minimum level of satisfaction. I do not recommend this mount, and I am sorry I bought it. I thought I could save some money over the Hustler QD-2 mount, which is truly an excellent piece of hardware. Live and learn.

It worked perfect, then the spring fell off somewhere and not it doesn’t work…. I ordered before checking the reviews.

These are really great, very convenient for antennas on vehicles that go through a car wash often. However, I’ve noticed a couple of issues with these.First, whatever they’re made out of, it’s not rustproof and after only a few weeks on my truck, it’s starting to rust.Second, the spring was getting stiff because of corrosion, so I squirted a little WD-40 in/on it. But the spring is just pressed into the female part of the unit, and after the WD-40, the spring now falls out whenever I take the antenna off.

I use this product on my cb antenna, I have a jeep wrangler and the antenna is mounted behind the spare tire. When I go to the car wash I use the quick disconnect to remove the antenna before going thru.

Very hand for taking off and putting on your antenna but only problem the spring keeps falling out so a dab of glue solved that problem

Product works as described and is pretty easy to connect/disconnect. Would have given it 5 stars but the outer metal housing seems to deform/bend a little. Has not become disconnected while driving yet.
