I’ve replaced these a couple times in the ten years I’ve owned my home, and once at my in-laws. The most recent time I took out the lock mechanism and sprayed in some long lasting silicone lubricant. It went from something like 10 pounds of pressure (guesstimate) to turn down to about 3 (also guesstimate).I could rag on these for being made of pot metal and not being super durable, but reducing their load is probably better for the whole lock system. If I feel it getting hard to turn again I’ll grease it again.

Our lock broke on our Andersen sliding door. Found this exact replacement on Amazon. It was easy and fast to install.

I limped thru the last few years with have broken stock ones on our two Anderson slider doors. They were wobbly and shaby looking after 22 years of heavy use with kids and pets. I saw these and the price is great. I was worried because ours were a little different shape. These replacements worked perfect and look nice and the doors feel and lock solid. Just a few minutes to replace each one. No skill needed. I then grabbed another one to save for replacement as with heavy use they will break again due to design and high use but thats ok now as these replacements are available.

My locking latch for my sliding door broke in my hand didn’t know what I was going to do checked Home Depot the only had the whole lock for a hundred dollars or more.as always checked Amazon and just what I needed popped up so I ordered it and it came the next day and in 15 minutes I had it installed .

My door is an old Anderson sliding glass door like 20 yrs old but my nephew was able to install this one without any problem . Works for me rather then paying the 150 that Anderson wanted
