I’m an avid aquarium enthusiast of 30 years. Great internal filter. It’s exactly what I was looking for since I have a power head on the other side of 70 gal aquarium. Great flow restrictor which can be set to various force on downspout water flow. Not sure why other reviews complained about noise. It’s quiet as advertised. Didn’t try the aerator that comes with purchase but I’m sure it’s just as easy to use. I’m happy and my fish are happy.

This does not work as a filter at all! I would say at best you could use it as a pump to drain your tank.

I will first say I really love this little filter, and it is a powerhouse! I was really impressed how much water this little thing can move. Its a fully biological filter when you receive it with a courser sponge in each of the 2 compartments This means that it wont effectively begin filtering for at least 30days after install simply becasue it must acquire the necessary beneficial bacteria in order to filter out what it needs to keep the water safe and healthy for your fish. I would suggest adding a dose of bottled biological bacteria to really jump start the cycling of this filter or to install it and let it run alongside another filter for a couple weeks before leaving it to work on its own. No let's get into the "finicky" part of this filter. It's assembly. . .while very easy to just pop everything together and then stick it onto the side wall of the the aquarium, the adjustment knob for flow control and the entire rainfall apparatus will actually pop off entirely under the force of the water being pushed through them if you try adjusting the position of the rainfall arm while its flowing and even the knob will pop off entirely ! This happened and sent a powerful jet of water straight up into the air onto my ceiling and soaked the surrounding area.Not very ideal to say the least. All this to say that once it's assembled and adjusted and you dont have to mess with it anymore it seems like it will do its job really well. I will update my review to reflect its true performance once the cycle has completed and the filter is actually doing its job to full capacity...

It seems works fine.But once becomes dirty filters, motor just stop functioning… not bad at all
