This product actually works. I have an outdoor Koi pond that has a significant amount of string algae buildup, and once I dropped this into the pond, I noticed the LG starting to clear up within a few days. We made the mistake of not cleaning our filters regularly and ended up with the clog because this product is so effective at clearing the sludge. Recommendation for anyone who wants to use this product is to clean their filters more often, especially in the first few days of dropping this in. It works like magic. Our pond went from being extremely murky to us being able to see all the way to the floor.

I have a small pond without a drain at the bottom, and in my area the water can get murky pretty fast. There isn't much wildlife since my area is semi-urban, but I figured this would help keep it from getting too gross. It's easy to use, and so-far, so-good. I haven't had a chance to compare it to local store-bought alternatives, but seems like a reasonable product at a good value.

We have a nice sized pond in our yard that had gotten murky over the years. We don't have any fish but do have quite a few frogs that live in there. So, anything we use has to be eco-friendly and safe for ALL wildlife. (birds and squirrels drink from it, too)The bomb I received came intact and in perfect condition. It hadn't exploded in the box or anything, thank goodness! To use, just drop it into the pond or in the filter, if you prefer. That's it!The product description says that one bomb can treat up to 2,500 gallons of water. It can't be overdosed so even if your pond is small, you shouldn't have any problems. It is starting to warm up here so we have just started to get our pond "season ready" again. I dropped in the bomb and let it do its thing. Since it's supposed to break down sludge build up and organic waste, I was definitely expecting to see visible results. (meaning, the water should look less murky)I paired it with the Aqueon Pure Outdoor Pond Water Natural Cleaning Bomb for Reducing Ammonia and Nitrite and the water is already looking a lot better! It has been a few weeks and I do notice a difference. It isn't drastic but there has been some improvement. I know things like this take time.

Perhaps for some and in certain ponds this works; for us, no change at all. Photos are shown, small pond, well under 2500 gallons.

There's a couple of ways to use this, but I chose to place it in the trap in the pump. I think in retrospect I would have tried one of the other ways mentioned in the instructions as getting access to it with our pond is kind of a hassle. The "sludge bomb" itself is a gooey green blob that you place in your pond. After that it works its magic.Does it work? It seemed to kind of work, though I don't think we have a particularly murky pond, so it was hard to tell. Maybe over an extended period of time with several dosages the difference would be more clear, hah. Still, its easy enough to use and certainly worth a shot if that's a problem you're trying to solve.

I got this sludge bomb for our small pond that stays muddy most days. I can't use it until the geese that are mating nearby hatch their eggs. I hope it will make things better for them when the water clears up.For the price, any improvement will be worth it.

I got this sludge bomb to use in my pond. My pond is mucky on bottom and the sludge is smelly so I’m really hoping that this helps with that. It says you can add it in in spring time, but there isn’t a water temperature requirement on it so I’m a little concerned that I will have put it too soon. It’s too cold right now to start digging around to see if the sludge has had much improvement. The scent usually gets worse as the weather gets warmer so I guess time will tell if this had an effect! I have been searching for the miracle product for my pond and have not found one that has dramatic results yet. If I do notice that this one makes a big impact on my pond. I will update this review.
