When I received the tool, the shank is 3/4" x 3/4" not 1/2" x 1/2" as listed. It will not come close to fitting into a 1/2" tool holder. Really disappointing that I will have to take a brand new tool and mill or grind it down to make it usable at all for me.

Received the tool yesterday and started the job I bought it for this morning. I intentionally went cheap because this was a particular one time use due to a tight area I had to reach in if I had to thin down the tool I wasn't out much. Well it reached fine but the wheel had .014 run out. That is a completely unuseable tool. I will only give it one star to catch another shoppers eye. I would take stars away if I could. Shame on me really. You get what you pay for.

It's great for what it is. I gets the job done. I did mill mine down to 5/16" to fit in my tool holder so i could get perpendicular to the work. with it at half inch it would not get perpendicular on my lathe to a 1/4 rod. Merely a limitation of my tooling. I would like to find some other wheels for it this one produces a very tight pattern.

Does a fine job for simple straight knurls at a great price. For occasional work in the home shop it's a great little tool.

I bought the knurler to decorate wood not metal. It had the pattern I wanted and should last a lifetime.
