Net is great and brand new but storage box arrived broken. Bought “used” from 3rd party.

When I learn to stop letting people borrow my nets and ripping holes in them I won’t need to buy a new one every year. This thing is amazing, easy to cast off a low pier, in the water, or off the bow of a boat. Light enough to throw for hours when the bait is hiding. Doesn’t like to be thrown into shell though, but nothing does. Wraps up nice and tight to throw in a hatch and doesn’t get tangled like the cheaper cast nets.

I got the 4ft version just for mullet in shallow waters and have had zero problems with the net. It’s helped me catch small finger mullet up to giant 14” moose mullet. Great value for price!

98% of cast nets these days are complete garbage as the weights around the leadline quickly become loose because the terrible craftsmanship . Good nets will keep those weights tight and prevent them from becoming loose .The Old Salts are one of the nets that keep the leads tight (So far) I haven't had a problem with them . I have had major issues with the Tyzac's and High Tider series nets which are cheaper. The OVERWHELMING majority of people purchase cast nets that are much too large , the ONLY time you should buy a net over 4 to 5 feet is if you're on a boat and have deep open water .I have 10 and 12 foot nets but I rarely if ever use them because I find 3 to 4 foot nets superior in almost every way . You can throw them much much further from the shoreline and they're much easier to handle and carry . I catch everything from corncob size mullet to large adult bunker down to killifish and shrimp.Small nets do it all don't let people talk you into buying overly large nets , always go small UNLESS as I said you're on a boat in deep open water.EDIT: Bought two more nets and these are damaged around the leadline . The leadline is loaded with tufts and then tied which crimps the leadline all along the outer edge making it ineffective at closing correctly resulting in lost bait . You will still catch bait but not near as many as you would otherwise if the leadline was tied correctly .

This a good quality cast net. Good weight. sinks quicklyI am an mid aged female I can throw it wit ease and pull it in with ease. I also got a casting disk to go in it. I am so proud that I have master the art of the cast net.If you have not got the chance to use a cast net I hope that you will at least watch a few youtube videosThis so much fun and you catch your own bait.

I really like the weight and the diameter of the 6 foot. I'm a newbie so after watching a few videos and trying it out, I was able to catch at least a hundred peanut bunker from a pier. It's really fun seeing tbh em get caught and swim up towards the surface as the net sinks. The net is really durable so far, I've only used it about 5 times this past season. I would say that you should definitely give it a good wash after use to prevent salt residue and bad smells

Love it. It was just what I was looking for. I bought another net and it was torn when I opened it. I've owned several nets and this is the size that is best for casting off a pier for bait fish. Not too small, not so crazy big you can not handle it but it is on the big size so I would say not for beginners. Don't need to be a pro but should have some experience before buying a net this size. Weights are on the smaller side but there are so many of them it actually feels heavier than my old net that had larger weights. The rope at the bottom that forms the huge circle is white nylon type rope rather than the plastic black weave rope that comes undone and frays so easily. The black type has been on every type of net I have owned so I am interested on how this will work.Rope is very very very very very very very very very long. Did I mention the rope is long?
