Remember learning to play the recorder in grade school? I had a black and "ivory" colored one, and it was a good-sounding instrument. This sounds a lot like that, and it's so fun to play. The plastic on the inside is silky smooth so I love having it against my face when I'm playing it. It's like an auditory fidget toy. Very satisfying!

I squeezed a good 2 octaves out of it with good control. Pretty tone. Can get very loud if you blow hard so just be careful haha

I wanted a better quality nose flute, having had several of the simpler ones over the years. This one proved difficult to play, creating a high frequency, off pitch whistle unless the player really blows hard. That means that playing softly is not possible - unless there is some technique that I have not found. Keep it loud, and it's OK.

I received a cheap toy nose flute as a gift and soon discovered that I was a natural nose flautist. But I knew that if I was ever going to make it in this tough biz, I would need to upgrade. This instrument is a tremendous improvement over my previous nose flute; truly concert-grade. I expect that this nose flute will serve me well throughout my burgeoning career.

I felt I had to write a review for this because we purchased one of these and also a 12 pack of cheaper ones. The difference in quality between the two types is like night and day! The cheaper ones barely make a sound and it’s a very scratchy annoying sound when it does. They were very difficult to play, not shaped to the contour of the face at all, and the sound (like nails down a blackboard) made them an instant return to Amazon. This Bocarina Professional one, however, is amazing! Well built, nice feel, very smooth surface (especially compared to the rough, scratchy plastic ones), and produces a clear, pure tone which is VERY easy to achieve instantly. Even my 6 year old was able to make a clear sound straight away. I am returning the cheap plastic ones and ordering four more of these for my kids instead. Well worth the extra few dollars!

This is definitely a top performer, but the one I received had one problem. The flute is made of only two pieces of ABS plastic, but with mine, the internal piece (the fipple, yes that is a word) was assembled incorrectly which made it virtually impossible to play. I finally figured it out and slid this piece downward (which was quite hard to do), and suddenly it worked great. This piece had been put in much too high which rendered it un-playable. Just notice this if you get one. I must add that I was a bit disappointed that it didn't come with ANY documentation or instructions whatsoever. It didn't even have a name embossed on the flute, it was just the bare flute itself in a padded envelope!
