The cactus plant is super cute and has many surprises hidden in the pot! The cactus twists off to reveal a magnet on the cactus's underside, which is clever and useful for finding dropped needles. The cactus plant itself is made of felt which makes it ideal as a pin cushion (and I bet will look very cute with sewing pins that have round, metallic, and colorful heads).Although most of the pieces inside are made of plastic, they serve my purposes of threading needles (several needless and a threader provided) and cutting yarn (conveniently on a plastic ring).Six plastic clips were included. They are made out cheap plastic. Minus one star because one of them came both broken and missing part of it, rendering it very non-functional.The flower pot also includes a thimble that does feel rather cheap and has dimensions I find ...unusual to say the least, and provides insufficient coverage. That said, the material it's made from is very lightweight (which I find preferably to the weight of better quality ones) and to be honest, I've never found a thimble to fit comfortably on any reasonable finger, so I'll probably get as much use out of this thimble as I have from others. It also comes with a measuring tape that has its own little container.Overall, I'm excited to use this and it looks adorable (while hiding its secrets) on my shelf.

When I saw this adorable little cactus pin cushion and sewing organizer, I had to have it because I love plants, and I love crafting. I've been learning embroidery and sew off and on, and this is so handy to have nearby as you work. Now I have a place to temporarily stick my needles instead of the arm of my chair, which admittedly is the dumbest place to put them considering I have several cats. 😳 Anyway...I just can't get over how cute it is! The pin cushion is very sturdy and firmly holds the needles without them slipping down into the fabric. It's easy to insert them, and easy to take them out. And the base holds several small items that are used constantly during projects, such as a needle threader, cloth tape measure, and small snippers or thread cutter. I thought it would be top heavy, but it doesn't seem to tip over easily. It would be nice if the bottom were a little heavier, though, and if it closed a little more securely. It closes okay, but it doesn't take much for it to open, so if it were to fall on the floor, for instance, the base might pop off. I haven't had that experience yet, so I won't take a star off for that. Oh, and the magnet is great for holding a couple of needles that are used often. Of course, it's great for picking them up off the floor, too, as well as other small items, such as paper clips. I take my pins and needles out of the cushion after I'm done because, you know...cats. And then I place the ones I use the most on the magnet for next time. This little cactus is just the handiest thing to have by your side while you're working. And did I mention it's cute?

Super cute cactus pin cushion. Storage in the pot also. It's bigger than I expected and it's a great size.

This pin cushion really does it all. You can stab needles and pins in the cactus part, which is a thick felt which will have keep your needles clean. The base is big enough for a tape measure, some clips and a few other notions that came with it. What I really love is the magnet that is in the lid. I sew a lot on the couch and it saves time when I drop a needle or pin that I can’t see. Overall it functions really well, and is cute while doing so.

I still have the tomato pin cushion my mom gave me when I was a little girl first learning to sew. It makes me happy and I think of her every time I use it, so I wanted to share the tradition with my daughter and started looking for a pin cushion she'd like. As soon as I saw this Cactus pin cushion, I knew it was the one. I was so excited to get it and was hoping it was as fun in person as it is in the pictures. It's a little bigger than I was expecting but overall, its adorable. The pot is made of plastic so no worries about it breaking, and the soil layer is funky but is a good attempt at dirt. The cactus itself is made of felt and so darn cute, and the flower on top is perfection! I love how the pot discretely twists open to reveal the storage area inside. It doesn't hold a lot but it holds the basics and that's more than my tomato does! It looks adorable sitting on my desk right now just as is and is almost too cute to put pins in, so I'll leave that choice up to my daughter, but either way, I know she's going to love it!

This is the cutest pin cushion I've ever seen!! The cactus portion is made very well and while I am restarting my sewing journey, I don't have any pins yet to test it out. It comes with a thimble, measuring tape inside of a case (which is a nice touch), some clips, a needle threader, and the bottom side of the cactus top is supposed to be magnetic. The magnet didn't work the greatest but it's nice to have. The thimble is a bit cheap but honestly for $12.99 it's a great price. I think of it as buying the pin cushion and getting all the extras as an added bonus. The best part is it's cute enough to leave on a desk as it looks like decor. The only thing that would make this a 5+ star product is including a few pins with colored pin heads to really make it pop! Especially for someone getting them into sewing that may not have all of the supplies yet. I'd recommend this product to anyone looking for a cute pin cushion that holds surprises!
