I got this last year for father's day. Came sharpened well and is very solid! I have big hands and am able to use it well in all 3 grip positions. Ive used it several times for fire pit fires. Will not be disappointed! I love it!

It doesn’t come very sharp but comes with a whet stone. It comes with a silicone cover for the tip, but I think this is just for shipping, as it’s not very durable. It comes with a leather cover with two snaps, but one of the snaps is unreachable when placed on the axe head. It has a nice heft to it.

I'd give this 10 Stars if I could!!!I own a different style of a hatchet from the same company and both of them are outstanding. They really put a lot of thought into their products.The quality, design and handling characteristics are simply the best of the best!Everything is hand crafted and done right. The shape, style, grinding and polishing of the forged ax head creates a sharp, well balanced tool. The handmade (real) leather sheath is well made and fits tightly (and smells great).The handle is made from a hardwood and is very well shaped to fit in your hand perfectly. Even when using it two handed! Also included in this bundle is a two sided sharpening stone. The stone is course on one side and fine on the other.The Craftsmanship is second to none.- A VERY STRONG 5 Stars -

I'm giving this Camping Axe and Hatchet set 4 stars. The axe itself is excellent—well-balanced and solidly constructed, and the head is securely attached to the handle. I've used it for splitting kindling and even for opening large boxes using the hook on the back of the head. The edge sharpens easily on a fine-grit belt sander and holds its sharpness well.However, I had to dock a star due to the poor quality of the included sheath. When I received the axe, one of the snap connectors was already pulled out of the leather. Then, the first time I used the sheath, another snap pulled out. The leather is thin and brittle, making the sheath nearly unusable.If you're looking for a high-quality, versatile axe for camping and survival purposes, this one fits the bill. Just be prepared to find a better sheath or make your own, as the included one is quite disappointing. With a better sheath, this would easily be a 5-star product.

This axe is small enough to be portable, sturdy enough to be durable, and simple enough to withstand time (or at least it seems like it will). The blade has enough heft to be able to be functional. The chopping edge is shaped for a hand axe. While it did not come with a razor sharp edge on it, it did come with a honig stone that made putting an edge on it pretty simple. The other side is equipped with a pick hook that will allow you to grab and flip a log. The handle has a comfortable shape and an attractive wood grain. In addition to the honing stone it came with a leather sheath that holds the axe in with two snaps. There is also a loop that you can put your belt through so you can carry it safely.
