Works well so far! Use it next to my water heater and gas heater just in case!

I've got this set up in my RV, because I'm always worried that somebody could bump the knobs on the stove and cause the propane to leak out or that something could go wrong with the regulator and cause leakage. So I was really happy to order this and give it a try.I was interested to see if it worked, so I instigated a slight propane leak after getting it out of the box and setting it up. Boy does this little guy work well. Loud enough to hear, and nearly instantly picked up the propane leak. Boy do I feel more safe in this RV with this product.I would definitely recommend it to Amy RV owner!

I have a workshop where I store my RV when not in use. There appears to be a tiny leak in my propane system and if I forget to turn the tanks valve off when I put it away, the propane will slowly leak out. I got this detector to leave in my workshop so it will go off any time I forget to turn the valve off. Simple to use by just plugging it into a regular outlet. Works great once it goes thru its warmup sequence. Alarm noise is plenty loud. I tested it out by leaving my tank open for a few hours one day and the alarm went off before I could even smell the propane in the shop. Definitely could be a life saver device.

Everything in our house uses propane. Water heater, boiler, stove, fireplace, generator and grill are connected.Shortly after our Genrac generator was installed, a slight odor of propane turned into an unmistakable gas leak after several days. An emergency call to our propane guys and generator installer brought them to our door in a hurry. We were lucky. We use it in our family room near the fireplace. The alarm is reasonably loud but not as loud as the smoke detector. I wish it was louder and had a backup battery.So....we now have multiple gas detectors in our house. While I have not been able to test the effectiveness of this alarm, I hope that I never have a need to hear it. It's reassuring to have a backup besides my nose.

It's hard to really determine the effectiveness of this product without having a gas leak. As of now, the product itself systemically works fine in terms of starting up and powering on.The fact that this is wired can either be a benefit or a hinderance depending on where your outlets are. I personally would've preferred something cordless to have unlimited placement options, but I cannot complain about not having to change batteries. It did omit a strange odor when initially starting up and warming up, I'm unsure as the reason. All in all, if you really want to be sure a monitor/alarm system works, please get something that is verified. While this may work fine, your safety is worth more than saving a few bucks.

I'm giving this propane detector 4 stars because I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt. However, I'm certainly not going to test it by letting propane run wild in my house. It's kind of irritating that I have to plug it in instead of it running on batteries, because it needs to be near the floor, and my kitchen doesn't have any easily accessible outlets there. I found an outlet under my island sink and plugged it in there, but it needs to be out in the open so I can't close the cabinet door. I can't give any other advice to would-be buyers yet, but I'll come back when/if I can get some experience with it.

I always leave the gas an and while it gives me peace of mind, this does have a few quirks. The setup was easy, just plug in, and the audible and visual alarm functions work but maybe a little too well. It's quite sensitive, which is great for safety, but it sometimes picks up harmless traces of gas and triggers an alarm. The beeping is loud, which is a pro for emergencies, but a con when you're just plugging it in or resetting it, as it can be a bit jarring.I do wish there was a way to adjust the sensitivity slightly to avoid false alarms. Overall, it's a working product for safety-conscious users, but be prepared for a few loud surprises.
