This project is awesome. I get great reception on my icom 52a plus anniversary or my yaesu ft-70d. The antenna is very pliable, and it works well on both of these radios. It is a great addition, swapping out from the original antenna that it comes with. For this price point, you can't go wrong. It's from a very trusted manufacturer, if you're familiar with comet, their products are by far some of the best on the market. Their innovation and technology is superior recommend this tenfold.

Excellent antenna. Good quality. Order the optional spring for it if you are going mobile with it on a tall vehicle as it will wack tree limbs, wouldn’t be an issue for trunk mount but for piece of mind still a good idea. Liked it so much bought a second one for my other vehicle.

AAA+ Antenna!! This antenna was a replacement that i had for over 3 years. I forgot to lower it and it got broke in a parking garage. This antenna works great with my Kenwood TMV-71A. Mounted on the rear hatch of my jeep. Had reports while on simplex of great reports over 40 miles. I also purchased the spring unit for said antenna. Haven't had any issues as of this writing.

This antenna replaced a less expensive and shorter VFAN dual-band antenna. I was surprised at the difference this antenna made on my reception and transmissions. It was initially connected to a handheld unit in my car for several months, but is now connected to a little 20-watt unit, which allows me to more clearly access repeaters on the fringe of my area with less static. Highly Recommended.

I swept the antenna 140-160 MHz as well as 420-470 MHz. The SWR was below 2 and very acceptable...as long as you have a ground plane underneath it that's at least a 20" (50cm) radius. I have two of these and use one with a scanner and the other for a transceiver.* I previously used a Larsen 150/450/800 NMO antenna with my scanner, but either this Comet CA-2X4SR or the NMO version are an improvement, as one should expect when compared to the Larsen. This would be a fantastic upgrade for your vehicle scanner antenna.
