This is an innovative idea that works well. I tested these chisels on 3/4" select pine with good success. I'm an amateur but was easily able to cleanly remove a tenon without splitting or tear out. The 90 degree shape allows you to maintain 90 degrees without rounding over an edge. Having two different chisel sizes gives you options.The blades are sharp and the rubber handles are comfortable to hold. I did use the hammer method a few times and the metal cap held up well. By using the chisel to hammer a score into the wood and then removing wood to the level of the score, you avoid tear out and chipping.I've also have had difficulty cleaning up half lap style joints in the past and expect these chisels will quickly clean both sides of the joint at the same time.One recommendation, make a better protective cap for the end of the chisel. The provided protectors didn't survive the first use. Be careful, use the provided gloves, the chisels are very sharp.Great addition to my workshop.
