Use the easy-to-read, black numbers (printed on white dots) and the 1/4 inch grip sides to cut whole inches. The 1/4 inch dashed lines printed on two adjoining sides aid in trimming seam allowances. Use the patented Turn-A-Round feature – designated by the easy to read, numerical white numbers (printed on black dots) and the 1/2 inch grip sides – to add the 1/2 inch seam allowance. Use the white 45 degree angle to trim half-square triangles in whole inch increments. Use the black 45 degree angle to trim half-square triangles in half inch increments. An additional black 45 degree line is placed so that two angles cross 1/4 inch away from the outside edge. Use these markings to square up flying geese units; squares set on point or mark cross-hatching. The ruler also features a 30 degree/60 degree angle. White horizontal and vertical lines are printed on the rectangle so the center of the ruler is easily distinguishable. Use these lines to fussy cut stripes and borders. This 6-1/2 inch width is also available in a 12-1/2 inch (Item CGR612) and a 24-1/2 inch (Item CGR24) length. The ruler slides easily over the fabric until pressure is applied. I have tried different quilting rulers and these are the best. Have gripper pads on bottom and less slipping while cutting. I am slowly switching to all Creative Grids!

Excellent, just what I needed to complete my quilting project. I have other Creative Grids rulers and they have never let me know. They are skidproof and a great buy.

Creative Grids are by far the BEST rulers out there so I always get that brand when getting rulers. Being a new quilter, I already had the 6 x 24 size, but needed something smaller as the 6 x 24 was sometimes to big and clumsy for all your cutting. I got my second ruler at the the 6 x 12 size thinking it would be fine, but it ended up being too short. The 6 x 18 is the perfect size as that extra 6 inches makes all the difference in having the proper length to cut folded yardage along with everything else. The 6x12 is nice for real small cutting jobs, but not practical as you can use the 6x18 for the same cutting. Take my advice save money and get the 6x18 size if you are considering getting a second ruler to supplement the 24 1/2

I have tried/used literally every ruler out there. I guess you could say I settled on Omnigrid....but I do hate that yellow band as it makes it so hard to see the fabric line below it. Also, I tried all manner of ruler 'stabilizers' - first it was Omnigrip, then Grace came out with those little donuts (which work very well), but now I mostly use Guideline4Quilting strips. They are incredible. But when I changed to the Creative Grids rulers they have rough little circles all over the whole ruler. I was skeptical that they would work, but they do keep the ruler from skidding all over the place. This is a great size ruler. For one thing it is 6.5" so it is much more versatile than the smaller rulers. I love this thing and I have several others in different sizes. They are so easy to see through so no more fudging on the fabric line.
