First one I received was poorly manufactured and faulty. Second one was better but not great, poor tolerances on this item. Not much in the way of alternatives I saw that didn't also look like junk or have poor revies so gonna live with it til find something else.

Works great better than using bar type clamp ,nice clean square flares that fit fittings properly

Finally a flaring tool that works as intended. The tool design virtually guarantees you'll get a good flare. This was a used tool and the flaring bolt threads were a bit chewed up, (can't figure out why or how they got damaged), I am very happy that it worked as I hoped it would.

I spent 30 years in the Motor Trade - working on imports and domestics; this tool gives a result ( with some care and caution ) that matches the expensive factory mandated tools, and it beats the dickens out of commonly available flare tool kits.

Quality of steel not that good and it did not make a good bubble flare. Great concept poor execution

The die blocks must be completely closed on the tubing before the nut will thread on. I couldn't get them closed on the original 3/16" factory Ford tubing even using a heavy c-clamp. It's the threaded snout on the die blocks that won't close enough to start the nut. It does work on Nicopp tubing because it's much softer but reduces the tubing O.D. a few thousands. Both kinds of tubing measure exactly .187". Also the flaring bolt was warped, undersize and loose but the nut thread size was right on so I made another flaring bolt using a 1/2"-20 grade 5. It now makes decent flares in Nicopp but the only way this tool will work on steel tubing is to drill out the clamping teeth on the snout end and hope it won't slip. I didn't realize Snap-On makes a tool like this and would've paid the extra for it. So it's back to using the good old fashioned real Snap-On Blue Point flaring bar tools that work.

I just got this today. Makes a decent single flare. But when trying to make a double flare, The tube just slips through the die. I can't get it tight enough to hold the line in place for the first flare of the double. Maybe I got a bad one. I bought this due to the great reviews. It's going to be returned. I tried it multiple times. It just flat out won't hold the line tight enough. I'm using this unit for brake lines on my truck.

I bought this tool because I couldn't get a good flare with my standard double flare tool. I flared two 3/16" steel brake lines under the car and both flares turned out perfect. It was so much easier to use than my standard double flare tool. I did do a practice flare on a extra piece of brake line before using it under the car. It also turned out perfect and it was my first time flaring with this tool. The key is to make sure the end is cut square and chamfered. This tool is so worth the money! I won't be using that other flaring tool again! I love this tool. Just a word of caution! Be careful not to cross thread. Take your time starting the main nut onto the block and hand tighten only after you have started it on straight. Well worth the money!

Works great, had a warranty issue and the company sent out a new part right away. Flares look like factory flares and very little damage before the flare. Tool holds the line tight and can be used under the vehicle. I would highly reccomend this product, very pleased with the results.

I was replacing the long brake line on a 1999 F-150 with extended cab and a 8 foot bed, which I found was all rusty when I was replacing the fuel pump and I had dropped the fuel tank which is right next to the brake line. I decided I should replace it also. I bought some stainless steel brake line, so I would not have to replace it again, but it is harder to flare than standard steel line, or there is a NiCopper line that I am going to try next. I did have a little problem with the SS line wanting to slip in the block. I did file off a little on the meeting sides of the blocks so they would clap a little tighter, but I found that if you take some fine sandpaper, and twist it around the end of the pipe so that you scratch little ring-groves around the SS line that it will hold much better. It seem the SS bake line is so smooth and hard that it is hard to hold on to, I made 4 flares, because the line has a "non-standard" Ford coupler under the driver’s door. That is it is not a double inverted flare coupler, which is what I replaced it with. It looks like a double flare on the one line, and a bubble flare on the other line that were pressed together in their coupler. No leaks so far and I do not expect any. I watch a video on JEGS site about working with stainless steel brake line and the recommend cutting the end off square with a hack saw since a pipe cutter squeezes the end shut so much on SS line. Try not to make the line hot as you cut it or you can temper and hardened the end. I filed the outside edge to that the first die would press on the center of the pipe and the pipe can start to bubble out easier since the outside edge is not there to press on. The thing that looks like a threaded rod coupler in this kit is actually much larger on the bottom end where the inital die goes, and this keeps it nicely line up. The only bad part is you cannot see how the fare is doing until you take the top part off, but that never seemed to be a problem for me. Note: besides the two screws clamping the block together I also clamp it into a vise when I was not working with a line that was already on the vehicle. The last flare I did under the truck and it worked fine. I used a very large set of channel locks to hold the square block while making the double flare.

I only have owned this kit for a few hours, but I had a project, and ordered this kit and was an Amazon prime item, first the shipping was one day, which helped, (not saying ever one will have this fast of shipping but it was fast,I own 6 or 7 other flaring tools some cost three or omre times this kit, and one other double flare unit, and was never happy with the results I got out of my other double flare tool, it worked but not with repeatable results, so I saw this the other evening and had a brake tubing that I needed to flare, and looked like a good idea,When this kit showed up I started on the tubing I need to flare, OK the first flare was not Ideal, (did not have the tube set correctly) I did 8 more flares and ever one was near perfect, and identical in properties, not lopsided or improper in any way, and the unit easy to use.one complaint I have is the unit needs an Allen wrench to tighten the clamping blocks onto the tube, I would think for $40+ they could have added the Allen wrench, so one would not have to go hunting one down, (I guess one needs two other wrenches as well so finding a Allen wrench is not that much more), but I am going to knock one star for the lack of it, I think it should be in the kit,It works and works well,
