The CURT Echo in-line trailer brake controller is a Bluetooth enabled device that wirelessly connects to your smartphone and allows you to control and monitor all trailer brake activity right from your device. The Echo brake controller brings your towing experience into the modern age. Powered by Bluetooth, it wirelessly connects to your smartphone without any extra modules required. Simply download the Smart Control app on your Apple iOS or Android OS device, plug the Echo into your vehicle behind the existing 7-way RV blade socket and you're ready to start towing (USCAR connection required). The app allows you to create multiple trailer profiles for different towing situations. The CURT Echo in-line brake controller operates with a tri-axis circuit for smooth stops going up or down a hill, and it is able to operate up to two to eight trailer brakes at a time (one to four axles). It is also compatible with cruise control and ABS brakes.

Works well. I had my doubts but the other option was to drill into my dashboard. Happy with this purchase. Installed easily.

We’ve had our CURT 51200 Echo in-Line Electric Trailer Brake Controller for over a year now and have been well pleased with it. Easy to install and easy to move to another vehicle when need be. Our only real issue was when we first installed it, at a local travel trailer sales location, when we picked up our new camper. It takes a bit to set the sensitivity and adjust things. So for the first few miles, the brakes would stay on too long before releasing. After re-reading the instructions and making the correct adjustments, things have been good. Ours is mounted on a Jerp Wrangler, up behind the rear left fender well via a pair of gun magnets. The APP has changed a few times (ie during the upgrade process), but its always remembered our settings and performed well. The No-Hassle Install was a big selling factor for us, plus the convenience of being able to quickly move it over to another vehicle is certainly handy. Overall, we’re well pleased with the product and would purchase it again without hesitation.

The product came as advertised. It was easy to install. And it worked in braking the trailer as advertised. However, when the trailer is disconnected, the unit messes with the electrical of the truck. For example, every time I hit the brakes the truck sends a warning that the trailer is disconnected. Then when I take my foot off the brake it says trailer connected. It also gives warnings that the turn signal is not working. I disconnected the Echo unit and the truck worked fine. I tried just disconnecting the Bluetooth, but it still messed with the truck’s electrical system. When it’s hooked up to the trailer it was fine. So not sure what is happening there. Their app needs some work as well. I returned it. I think I’ll just get a standard brake controller.

They should include in the advertisement that it will not work on RVs. They are too long. This is made for a pick up truck, suburban, or Tahoe type vehicle. Found out after purchase when trying to install. Contacted Curt because it would not work and we were advised by them. Unfortunately, the time has lapsed in which I can return it

Works great when trailer is connected. When a trailer isn’t connected my truck gives me lots of warnings about turn signals. If I disconnect when not trailering it’s perfect
