Works great. Transfer rate on both usb close to the 5Gbps. I’m not sure what the power cable is for. Works without it plugged into the psu. With or without being plugged in seems to provide max 4 watts.

Perfect for my motherboard without USB C internal header. It uses the USB 3.0 header and acts as a hub with an output of both usb 3.0 header and usb-c. Obviously usb-c is limited to the speed of usb 3.0 but nice to have a functioning usb-c front panel port on my case.

I have an Acer aspire TC-855. I have upgraded this main board in to an NZXT tower. The tower front panel is USB 3.0. This helped make the tower fully usable. I had an extra M.2 slot on the main board. I wasn't sure this would work due to the age of the Acer.

Just like that converted a 3.0 to a type c. Both usb 3.0 and type are accessible at the same time. The board I had didn't have a 3.1 header, and this little thing is great.

The cables are long enough to mount board on case with the supplied double-sided pad. Works great, all 3 ports, 2 type A and type C ports run at high speed.Easy to install and only one cable shows on front, rest of cables and board are hidden behind motherboard. All you have to do is plug into USB 20 pin connect to board, connect SATA power to board using cable, then plug in the usb-c 20 pin to front io, and plug in USB 3.2 cable to front io and done.Power on no driver required in windows 11, recognized and worked upon post/boot. I first plug in mouse and keyboard and worked in bios and windows.Tested usb3 thumb drive and worked at full speed on all 3 ports.Would recommend if needed, motherboard only having one usb3 headers. Plus it is cheaper than purchasing splitter cable and adapter.

This works... But not for long. While the controller chip isn't terrible I suspect the power handling isn't designed well. I bought these because the server motherboards I was using didn't have enough ports and I didn't have a spare slot; now it looks like I'll need new motherboards.

DOA on arrival. Could not get the USB-C off header to work.

Consigliata

Didn’t even wanna risk plugging this already burned wire in. Deal was too good to be true sadly, avoid for safety reasons!

My case had two 19/20 pin USB plugs and my mobo only had one. I could have used a 2.0 header to 3.0 adapter so all the ports would "work", but with a 4k Brio cam and multiple USB 3.0 capture cards the USB 2.0 ports just don't cut it for most my devices these day. This worked right away without issues, although it did take one of my m.2 ports on my mobo, my video card can be vertical mounted with this hiding behind it.
