Super easy to install and very sturdy. Just make sure you hit a stud. Way better than the 3 hole brackets.We used 4 on a 16' rail.

The normal cheap three screw hand rail support sound great but are not the best if safety is a priority. Had the standard builder installed 3 screw hand rail supports that are really not the best. First of all the three screws have to screw into a 1 1/2" wall stud and span from side to side of these mounts really puts to test ability to precisely locate the stud. With good stud finders (?) this can be done but then it uses 3 #8 screws for mounting. These are not very strong strong screws even tho there are 3 of them. This mounting bracket uses only one screw but it is a #12 screw that is significantly larger and stronger. The material used in this bracket is also of better quality than the standard cheap brass ones (one of mine had broken and another was bent when I removed them). To install, one need to determine the height to position the bracket as the shape and hole alignments are likely different. Mount the three brackets to the wall and rotate each mount so its rail mounting bracket at the top is in approximate position to permit the railing to be installed parallel to the stairway. Likely will not be able to use the prior holes drilled in the bottom of the railing so will need assistance to position and hold the hand rail while you determine and mark the location for the new holes for bracket to hand railing mounting. From underneath, mark the where the bracket and support bracket meet and drill holes to secure the bracket to the railing. Keep the railing positioned the same distance from the wall at each mounting bracket. Dont forget to tighten all the screws to complete the install. There is no wiggle of my hand railing. I feel the security and build quality is far better the the cheap three screw hole mount brackets and that the prices is well worth it to give enhanced safety and security of this hand rail.

I was wary of a single screw holding the bracket but I am impressed. The design is nice and modern and as long as you screw into the stud, you should have no problems. This will not cover the holes of the standard ‘3 hole mount’ you see in a lot of homes.

I had held off on putting up a railing on the basement steps because I felt it was going to be a difficult job. Found these on amazon and tackled the task. Using them on studs and getting the angle right on the first hanger, the job was a breeze after that. They look nice and come with decent screws. I like 'em.

They are well made, nice and solid.. They are a huge improvement over those old ugly brass things that are constantly wiggling loose and requiring regular tightening. I was surprised that one screw on the base would hold so snuggly and efficiently; the screws are long and as long as they are going into a stud they work well- I didn't have to try any of them with anchors , so I can't speak to that.Because the base is broad and gives support all the way round they don't move . Took just minutes to install .Very happy with the function look and price ( much better than Lowe's or HomeDepot).

I choose these brackets for there looks, and ordered the Satin Nickel. There really are nice n chunky, heavy-duty and made the railing feel very solid... I used 4 for about an 8' railing. Very happy with how they went on and the end result! I would definitely recommend them!

Nice and quick shipping. Strong and uniform in design. 1 star off as some of the screws were malformed and had to be replaced and there were scratches on one of the brackets revealing the metal under the powder coat (probably from shipping movement). The finish is more on the brown/bonze side. The images give the impression of being closer to black- FYI.
