The hinge / joint that connects the cable to the combo side of the lock is flimsy. I’m pretty sure I can break it instantly with just my bare hands. HOWEVER, now that I look at it, the flimsiness of the part is evident on the Amazon photo - so, this unhappy purchase is partly my fault and I can’t give it 1 star.

Wanted a lock for a Hi-Boy electric scooter that has the locking hole through the deck that also attached to the scooter so its always there. The lock Hi-Boy sells has a fat end on each side and doesn't fit through the deck hole of my scooter, which is the most secure way to lock it.This one is the perfect length, is only large on one end of the lock mechanism with the other end being the same diameter as the cable sonit goes through the deck hole, and the secure tube mount means the lock is always on the scooter and easy to remove and use, then reattach. Quality of the lock mechanism and cable is great. Super happy I found this as it's exactly what I needed.

I have had these cable locks before and the tumbler lock where the male end snaps into was just cheap junk.Though this cable lock is inexpensive, everything is good quality. It is what it is, these days some one with a battery powered cut off wheel can remove it pretty quickly. Keeps the mostly honest honest, and the lazy and underequipped thief encouraged to move on to something else

I got the 6ft lock for when me and my guy ride our bikes to the pier. It’s long enough that I can wrap it around both our bikes’ frames and tires together. The it is a good looking lock with the electric blue color. I had lost the instructions, but it was easy enough to figure out how to set the combo. Bike thefts aren’t common where we are, so I’m not too sure about the strength of the cable, but it hasn’t been stolen yet. So good so far!

Overall average but the tight coils makes it functionally too short for ease of using at stands.

The DocksLocks Anti-Theft, Weather Resistant, 6 ft. Security Cable allows me to lock up the back wheels to a thick post, small tree or to my bike rack. The blue outside tubing around cable prevents damaging my spokes and frame paint. The DocksLocks Security Cable comes with a 4-digit combo. I prefer to use 4-digit combo locks over using combination locks; quicker and much easier to see in dim light. I am pretty sure that I won't be using the attachment (that comes with the lock) to connect the lock to the frame. I keep my locks in my bike bag instead.I own a bike rack that attaches to the back of my car to carry my two ebikes. I will use the DocksLocks cable to secure my bike to the rack without the fear of it scratching the paint on my rack or bike. I can daisy chain the DockLocs cable (with another cable lock) allowing me to extend the length enough to lock through both tires, both ebikes and to the bike rack. The cable is not very thick and understand that thieves may use general wire cutters. My plan and expectation is to use this as a deterrent locking system.

This is a 6 ft. Cable Lock Set, with a personalized, re-settable combination lock, rather than a key. The lock set could clearly be used for plenty of purposes. However, for me, it will securely lock up my bike when I'm "out and about." I've been using a cheap version of this type of lock for years, and it has worked OK. Now that I have the DocksLocks cable lock set, I can't believe how cheaply made my old cable lock is. I'm glad to have the upgrade. This lock looks plenty heavy enough to deter a thief. Yes, I'm sure that with the right tools, you could cut or defeat the lock. But for most purposes, this lock will work just great for me.I got 6 ft. long cable because when I lock my bike, I run the cable through the frame of my bike, AND through both the front and rear tires, so nobody has the option to just steal my tires. The 6 ft. cable weighs more than a shorter cable, but pedaling the extra weight around is worth it to me.The listing says this cable lock is designed for indoor AND outdoor use, including "marine grade weatherproof steel" and, "a protective coating to enhance corrosion resistance." I won't be testing either of these features, but I'm glad to (hopefully!) have them. I certainly ride my bike out of doors, but I go out of my way NOT to leave my bike (or bike lock!) exposed to inclement weather.I like that this lock has a mounting bracket to hold the cable lock to my bike. My old cable lock didn't have this feature, so I just wrapped the cable around the bike, just underneath the seat. And, on occasion, while I was riding, I would get "snagged" on the cable lock. With the DocksLocks mounting bracket, I can arrange to carry the cable lock in a place on my bike that doesn't snag my clothes or my legs. And, as soon as you figure out how the cable clips onto the mounting bracket, you'll see that the mounting bracket holds the cable securely, and that the cable clips and unclips quickly and easily.I also like that this cable lock has a simple, velcro band preattached to it. I'll use the Velcro to tighten the coils of the cable tightly together and keep them from flopping around while I'm riding around.I also especially like that the cable has a thick, vinyl coating on it so it doesn't scratch the paint on my bike when I lock it up. The vinyl coating on this cable lock also feels quite heavy, certainly more than "heavy enough."There was a simple set of instructions included with this cable lock. They described how to set the lock to whatever 4 digits I wanted. After reading through the instructions and looking at the pictures, it was easy enough to set the combination on the lock, and to change it later, as often as I like. Remember to keep the instructions handy, so that whenever you want to change the 4 digits to something else, you can do it.Also, DON'T forget your combination and not be able to UNlock your lock. You can only re-set the combination on the lock with the lock UNlocked.Strangely, the instructions did not describe how the connector for the mounting bracket ... attaches to the mounting bracket on the cable. After messing around with the lock just a bit, it was easy enough to figure out, but I thought the Seller would just make it easy for us and just tell us.
