Would not open up large enough to go over Mercedes-Benz joint. Boots all tore. Bought other brand it worked fine. These boots are junk. Returned for refund. Bought other brand and it worked well.

When I unpacked the tool, it appeared it had been used before. The teflon tape on the threads was shredded from someone screwing on a quick coupler before. I tried 3 of the boots. Each one ripped at the small end before the tool was fully expanded. I tried heating a boot, and was able to get one boot on one axle. The tool would not expand enough to go all the way over the CV joint for mercedes W123, 124, 107 or 126 axles. I had intended to replace all 4 boots on two axles, but the old, cracked OE boots are still better than the junk boots supplied, so I only replaced the cracked boot. The picture shows 14 boots, but only 12 boots were delivered. I bought some flex boots and they work as expected with this tool. You are much better off to buy just the tool and then order flex boots.

Firstly, it is very rare that I write a review, but in this case I find it necessary to do so in order to help keep people honest. After paying close to $200 for a NEW item, I received what appeared to be a previously used CV Boot Air Tool with 2 missing CV boots and 2 missing packets of CV joint grease (I didn't bother to count the clamps). The air line plug that screws into the tool still had Teflon tape around the threads. I decided to keep the kit because I needed to fix my car urgently. Fortunately the tool seemed to work fine, though it did tear one of the boots upon expansion. Also the air release button acts funny. The air release button works better if you disconnect the tool from the air line. All in all, this air tool saved me time, money, and frustration. I would up the number of stars if they improve the air release button and if it was a new and complete set.

Great tool! Saves you hours worth of work. The boots included were the perfect size for my Yamaha Rhino. Local Auto parts stores sell different sized stretchable boots in the event you need a larger size. The boots included are the smallest size Dorman offers (Dorman 614-001) . This is a great value, the included boots, bands and grease alone sell for more than what I paid for the tool. The tool itself is massive and of good quality, it should last many years for the average user. You can't go wrong with this purchase!

The tool is great, was easy to use and did exactly what I wanted. Shipping was quick. My only recommendation would be to buy only the tool. The boots do not fit Audi and are not very substantial, maybe they would work on a quad or something. Great tool, not so great boots.

works good but, made a little on the frugal side. its a good tool if you take care of your tools. also I found out it works on utv and atv's as shipped. overall very useful and a real timesaver.

Worth it. The dealership discovered my ripped Cv boots and quoted me $625 to replace them. This kit comes with everything but the banding tool, which you'll need to order as well. The air tool doesn't look like it will last forever, but it made stretching the boots easy and how many times will you need to use it anyways?
