3 burner grill came with a limited 8psi. Not enough power. Switch to this 20psi and it’s more than enough for all 3 burners at same time. Like the adjustable knob. Heat buy

My 36" Blackstone Omnivore was leaving some to desire with the temperature when trying to get a good sear. I did the tricks of slowly opening the tank, resetting the regulator, adjusting knobs when starting and still had the same issue.I picked up this adjustable regulator to remedy this issue and I'm glad I did. The install was easy with two wrenches. After installing to the griddle and mounting to the tank, it took some fiddling with the adjusting knob to get a good flow. I got all 4 burners turned on and then adjusted the knob til I got an even flame on high on all burners and was happy with it.Since then, I've cooked on it a number of times and it still is working great. My only issue so far as been sometimes I need to tweak the adjusting knob when getting started. It's not every time though.Overall it's a nice product and a great upgrade for any Blackstone.

Like many other people the regulator on my Q grill went down (actually drained a small propane bottle and the heat change fused the threads together so I couldn't unscrew the bottle) so it was banished to the back of my garage for about 8 years. Wanting a new project I broke it out and started pulling it apart. Here's what you need to do... (trust me, it's easy)1. Disassemble the grill to the point where you are holding the regulator assembly in your hand, remove the control valve off of it (you'll need it).2. Throw the regulator with the black bracket attached against a non aesthetic brick wall, stomp on it, then throw it away.3. By this hose (you won't need the full 20 psi so getting a larger one isn't necessary).4. Home Depot, Lowes, Menards... pick your favorite flavor of hardware store and get the following parts...******A 3/8" flare to 1/4" MIP Adapter fitting******B 1/4" MIP x 1/8" FIP fitting******C 1/4" NPT IM Female Connector Plug******D 1/4" Universal Coupler****** Teflon Tape or some other thread sealant (for the love of god, don't use a thread locker)5. Order of assemblyPut your teflon or sealant of choice on all Male threads of the above pieces."A" screws into the Hose."D" threads onto "A"The Valve from your Q screws into "B""C" threads onto "B"6. Reassemble your Q.7. Important! Turn the control valve on your new hose all the way off8. make all connections9. Turn your Q to start/max10. Hold a long nose lighter over the burner and SLOWLY open up the new regulator until the flames light, then adjust so you aren't overpowering your grill.11. Be responsible, don't go hog wild, it's a Q grill not a blow torch.12. Be responsible, don't go hog wild, it's a Q grill not a blow torch.******* Yeah, I typed it twice. Because it's important to not blow stuff up, specifically not yourself.13. Last step. Grill something cool.

I got this for my Camp Chef 4 burner flat top griddle thinking maybe I could get my flames hotter. The problem I had was everytime I would turn the propane tank on and try to light the burners I would have to spend a few minutes trying over and over to get the flames to ignite. This is after having the knob set to what I wanted when I had used it before. It seems I would have to re-calibrate everytime prior to using. This became hectic and time consuming. I even went as far as to take my griddle top off so I could literally look at the burners while trying to dial the setting in. Even after doing this I would still have to spend several minutes prior to getting the burners to light on the next cooking session.I'm sure this regulator works just not for what I wanted it to work for. I put the OEM regulator that came with my griddle and it lighted up on the first try. I will keep this to use on something else.

I got this to upgrade a grill that just was not hot enough. For that purpose it works great. I have 2 positions I will use, one is the point before extra noise is heard. This is the normal position I use and is quite a bit hotter then the regulator that the grill cam with. Then sometimes I will use a 1/4 turn on this to boost it. It will make some noise, this is good as it is a reminder that I am boosting it, and I don't want it to run like that, just occasionally like preheating, or to recover lost heat when opening the grill lid and getting it back up to operating temperature. Like this I could go from a cold grill over 450F in one minute and use that for preheating. But then I found a different way, which changed the need for the regulator. Retrofitting the grill with lavarocks (you can youtube this). That one in itself would have been a complete solution, however having this regulator is still useful. The lavarocks greatly increase the grill temperature and I frequently cook at low temperature and have all the heat I need. However it does take time to get up to temperature due to the need to heat those rocks (so the boost does still help) . The other benefit is that the lavarocks catch and burn up the drippings which adds flavor and reduces mess and the quantity of grease that ends up in the drip pan.In short this is a great regulator to get more BTU's out of a grill, however the lavarock retrofit should be considered first, then this if needed beyond. While a hotter fire does help getting it going, it is not as dramatic when lavarocks are used.
