You'll be surprised at how well it's made considering it's price. Well worth it.@Seller: Please add handles to your next revision, so we can move the stand more easily. Doing so, will bring this scope to direct competition with the leader in this field (GEEE ARE ESSSS).

I own the name brand stand and bought this to compare the two. The stands are virtually identical down to every last detail. The biggest difference is the name painted on the side. The metal thickness is basically the same everywhere on the stand and the few sections that are thinner are only thinner by about 0.1-0.2mm. They are also very similar weight, fairly heavy. The hardware was a little loose out of the box so I recommend tightening but that’s easy just an 8mm socket I believe. Honestly the focus knob on this unit is much smoother and easier to turn than on my name brand stand. I was bummed to realize my Meiji scope would not fit in the ring mount that came with this stand, the ring is made specifically to fit the budget amscopes and vevor scopes which are slightly smaller. Luckily since I am using a Leica on my name brand stand I had a Meiji acrobat mount that fit seamlessly into this cheaper stand. I’m sure there is a Meiji ring mount that can be purchased somewhere or with slightly modification the one that came with this stand could maybe work. Also a machine shop could make a little ring mount ten times over with the money saved on this stand vs the name brand unit also. So, if you’re in the market for a stand, do yourself a favor and save 900 by getting this unit.
