Your First Forever Guitar. The Epiphone Power Players SG is a 3/4+ version inspired by the legendary Gibson SG shape. It has a 22.73” scale length and a slightly smaller mahogany body making it light, easy to play, and an excellent choice for younger players. The Power Players SG is also a great travel guitar choice for more experienced players. It sounds better and stays in tune longer than other “student model” guitars due to its high-quality components and excellent build quality. The bolt-on mahogany neck has a sculpted heel for improved upper fret access, and it is powered by a pair of authentic Epiphone humbuckers for rich, full SG tone. The Power Players SG comes equipped with a gig bag, strap, picks, and a guitar cable. In order to continually improve the design, quality and performance of our products and instruments and to make use of the best materials at all times Gibson reserves the right to change specifications without notice.

The action is way to high and there is a massive bow in the neck. Definitely would turn a beginner off because it’s too hard to learn on.

Perfect beginner axe. Works and sounds as good as the full size.

The guitar overall seems well made. The big issue I have is with the very cheap bridge/saddle casting. This guitar has set intonation, as there are no floating saddles. Instead, there are intonating features molded with the bridge and you have one set screw at each post to adjust the intonation of the strings. 6th string E intonation is off? Better hope it matches the change needed for 5th string! To adjust intonation:1. Detune the strings until they are FLOPPY.2. Wrap a pair of pliers with electrical / duct tape3. Squeeze the edge of the bridge / saddle casting against the post in order to stretch the bridge back with the piers.4. Turn the set screw with a 1.5mm Allen wrench. It should move smoothly without almost any force at allI made the mistake of assuming the bridge and screw were made of something harder than Hershey's chocolate. Shame on me, I guess. One or the other (probably the bridge itself) stripped and now it can't be intonated properly.
