Plastic molding of this product is not well designed or manufactured. It needs physical forcing on both sides to get the device and battery aligned and attached to one another. Of course taking them apart is equally hard. Once in place, it works but in my opinion, it is not worth the hassle. Ryobi batteries, especially chinese knock-offs are pretty cheap.

As primarily a Dewalt battery owner I appreciate these adapters being made. This one works well with my Ryobi glue gun. At first I used to buy a couple batteries of each brand, then you have the chargers for each and it takes up even more space in my small shop. I've turned to adapters to be able to purge my battery collection to keep one brand and this adapter helps me with the Ryobi batteries. I haven't had any issues with it so far.

Purchased this since I have both Ryobi and Dewalt tools and wanted a way to adapt the Dewalt batteries to work with my Ryobie tools. This works just as you would expect and lets me utilize my investment in Dewalt batteries for a wider range of my tools. Would recommend!

This review is for the YMWLKJ DeWalt Battery Adapter for Ryobi 18V ToolsOverall: 4 StarsThis adapter functions as a simple way to allow me to use my Devalt 20V batteries with my sister's Ryobi 18V tools. The materials used seem to be quality, and I can attest to the durability of the adapter, as I've dropped it multiple times onto concrete. The surfaces are all smooth, the sign of quality manufacturing for this type of plastic material. There's no flashing left over from the molding process that you sometimes find in lower priced products. The color scheme matches the Ryobi lime green well. The only reason I've rated this adapter at four stars rather than five is due to what I think of as a design shortcoming: the adapter doesn't allow Dewalt batteries to completely seat as far into the adapter as it should. At first I thought it was because I tried to use some third-party manufactured Dewalt-style batteries, but upon trying to use Dewalt's OEM batteries I noted the same issue. It has no effect on the functioning of the adapter and the batteries seem to be held securely by the adapter, but it looks like the batteries don't fit exactly. The issue caught me by surprise, and as far as I can tell, there's no reason for the problem to even exist.

I recently was given a Ryobi tool that I needed, but I don't have any Ryobi batteries. This adapter will let me use that tool by plugging in one of my DeWALT batteries that I have several of. It works perfectly and fits perfect in my Ryobi tool and my DeWALT batteries fit nicely as well. If you have a similar need, this adapter will be just what you need.
