This does not detect R410A leaks. I used it side by side with a Fieldpiece tool. The fieldpiece detected gas immediately, this thing did not.

Its high sensitivity and multiple alarm types give me peace of mind, knowing that I'll be alerted to any refrigerant leaks promptly. The 25cm probe makes it easy to reach tight spaces, and the overall build quality feels sturdy and reliable. I got this for use in detecting refrigerant leaks. I've used dye before and have used combustible gas detectors for finding refrigerant leaks, even though that's not what they were designed for, so I figured why not get the proper tool for the job. I honestly have not tried it to locate a leak as I don't have any systems leaking. I did power it up and make sure it detected refrigerant though. Opening the valve on my one manifold it was able to detect the presence of R134a so I know it at least functions. It has a nice display and appears straightforward in operation. I will update this review if anything changes my opinion of this rating.

.Pro quality. Clear, color graphic display. I was able to put a short grip handle on the provided underside mount which makes it really easy to handle. I've never been a fan of goose necks, but this one is strong and appears quite robust. Of course it makes it easier to get into tight places to let it sniff out a pinhole leak. Overall great quality and the size of it is a good value for me.

Easy to use and esy to read leak detector for a/c coolant gas. So far it works great at detecting R-134a refrigerant. Gooseneck is metallic and holds position well. Seems to be a good value for the money.
