Works as advertised. BUT, that handle came down in a hurry and would have hurt if I hadn't pulled back quickly. Seems a tad more handle travel to the safe/rest position would be optimal.

I was instantly impressed with the build quality and weight of this product. I bought the15inch and for my smallish bar I feel it’s the perfect size, just big enough for squeezing grapefruits. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone, and for the price, amazing.

Why does orange juice just make you feel better? This is a well built sturdy, manual juicer. It is easy to use and it stays put while you are squeezing. Most of it is heavy polished metal, easy to clean. The bottom is removable and is very easy to clean however you have to remember to clean the top (every time). The juice just makes me FEEL BETTER. I am very satisfied with this. Oh and BTW, I made room for it on my countertop because I bought the over sink dish rack from Amazon..... Love that as well! And, yes you can still see out the window ...... :-)

The juicer definitely juices all citrus fruits adequately, but not as effectively as it could have. There are three areas of improvement:1. The bottom cast iron tray, which holds the stainless steel juicing strainer, was slightly too low to get a solid squish of any fruits smaller than a large lemon.2. the pressure-cone (attached to the handle) and the bottom tray were not very well aligned, so you would often have to adjust them to fit together by hand.3. there is no locking mechanism to keep the handle up-right, which means that the pressure cone can just slam down on your hand if you aren't careful, and it's edges are very sharp. It's really inconvenient when you need to switch fruit pieces.Lastly, we have been using this machine for 2 years, it's made of "cast iron" and stainless steel, when, what seemed like out of no where, the bottom tray just broke. It is not fixable and needs to be replaced, but as far as I can see, I can't purchase any replacement parts for this device. I will not be purchasing it again, as there are similar devices for less than half the cost.

Utilisé tous les jours pour les oranges et citrons.Petits défauts: le top du pressoir n'est pas en stanless steel, ĺe manche ne tiend pas en position vertical.Le jus dégoute parfois à côté du verre. Solution : utiliser un verre large.Mais on s'adapte et l'appareil est très efficace.

Received today, tried with oranges, works like a charm and if you rinse the removable part immediately it is one of the easiest to clean appliances (wipe the rest of the device with a wet napkin, and you are done).Oranges straight from the fresh drawer of a fridge may be used ( no need to heat them up to room temperature): this device provides such a strong pressure with so little effort, it juices even chilled oranges dry.It comes with small suction cups, which improves the functionality greatly. Preserve the small tightening wrenches in a ziplocked bag so when the time comes you have them, but on arrival all the screws are perfectly tight.Sturdy, easy, reserve a space (tall, a tad heavy), all parts which touch the food are steel, just rinse before the first use after a touch up with soapy water.Again: reserve a space to store or keep on the counter permanently!Make sure to wipe the device with a wet napkin before the first use (it is clean but clearly straight from the factory):enjoy!A simple, non-electrical, satisfying mechanical appliances. Its large surface will be perfect to try with pomelo and pomegranates, in addition to oranges... we will try these soon!

This review is for the 18.5 Inch Juicer.I researched press juicers and finally chose this one because it claimed to be large enough to accommodate a grapefruit. I have two orange one grapefruit and one pomegranate tree in my back yard. The grapefruits and pomegranates are huge so I was looking for a juicer that would be large enough to handle whatever we've got growing. This juicer definitely hits that mark!We had our nieces over for Christmas so we made a day of picking and juicing oranges. We picked and juiced about 100 oranges in about two hours. This juicer accommodated both the large and small oranges without a problem. The lever was not too difficult to pull such that my 8 year old niece could take part in the juicing as well. Both girls had a great time and, for the most part, the juicing went smoothly and cleanly. On the down side, occasionally, a bit of juice would squirt out shooting over the collection cup. Also, the suction cups occasionally came loose allowing the juicer to tip.On the plus side, the oranges were thoroughly juiced; to the point that if we pressed too hard, we would begin forcing the orange skin through the strainer! The VAST majority of the juice went straight down through the spout and into our container making for fairly clean operation. Because I selected the taller model, we were able to juice directly into used juice/water bottles; the down side of this was that when we juiced into a low measuring pitcher, there would be some splash because of the distance from the spout to the pitcher. The height (18.5" or 15") is measured from the bottom of the spout so get what you need.Five stars assigned advisedly; any conns noted above were minor and I'm very pleased with the quality and operation of this juicer.

Update 2: Forget the rubber band. They break too easily. I've done this enough to know that effective use of this type of juicer is procedural. Cut up all of the pieces you intend to juice beforehand. Then your squeezing hand never needs to leave the lever and the other hand can feed new pieces and remove the old. Keep the lever in the down position at all other times and you won't have a problem. Faster that way too.Update: I solved the floppy handle issue with a rubber band. Put it over the top of the handle down to the inflection point and behind the support post. Handle stays up and you won't have to remove the band to use it. Juicing oranges aren't peaking yet. Added limes and the combination is delicious. This is a pretty awesome looking beast and my inclination was to like it. I bought the larger model to fit taller containers underneath and they do fit. Think 32 ounce canning jars, Nutribullet glasses large and small, etc. Also the base is enormous and stable. No need for suction cups. The arm does tend to flop down so be careful. There has to be an easy fix for. Seems to be a problem with all of these devices. What about results? My first attempt was with a hard green apple because I didn't have any oranges. I tried to juice it in two halves like it shows with the oranges but that didn't work well. Finally smashed it down all the way, but the force pulled the pressing cone off center and I had to adjust it so it wouldn't hit the lower rim. Crushing was not complete and what looked like apple sauce gathered under the lower part holding juice from draining. This might work with apples but you have to dice them into smaller pieces. Too much trouble and not the best way to do apples.Next came limes. Worked perfectly extracting nearly all the juice. Lifting the lever slightly and repressing several times releases extra juice. After that I tried naval oranges. These are better eaten whole. Not a lot of juice there either. Juicing type oranges and grapefruit should work great. Looking forward to that. One warning is keep your fingers clear of the presser. I got into a bad habit with the apple pieces trying to hold them in place until the presser secured them. Not much room for fingers and you don't want the handle flopping down with your fingers in there. No harm done but holding pieces with your fingers is a bad idea.Warnings aside, this works great for its intended purpose.
