This is my first matcha set and I’m very happy with it. I was given some matcha tea for Christmas but didn’t have a set, so I was glad to get this set and try it out. It was very well packaged so there was no breakage. The bowl is lovely with a rippled edge, nice neutral color and a smooth bottom so it doesn’t scratch. The set includes a bamboo whisk and holder, plus a bamboo measuring spoon. The stand for the whisk makes it easy to dry after use and is also good for storing it. I made my first cup of matcha ever (following the instructions from Downshiftology) and loved it. Very easy to make with a nice fresh taste. I need a frothier so I can make a matcha latte! I would definitely recommend this set to anyone who is looking to make matcha at home or give it to someone as a gift.

Great set - matcha bowl is excellent quality and sized to enable appropriate whisking. Whiskey spoon are bamboo and good quality as well as expected. Love the whisk stand where you easily pop it down and off.The only item of note is I was expecting to set to be white and it is really more of an off gray/blue but outside of that it’s fantastic quality and well recommended.

SO PRETTY. I love celadon - because I love icy colors - so this is right up my alley. I like giving “tea parties” so this is added to my other matcha sets. The shape of the bowl is lovely. I do wish it came with a mat for underneath, and an individual strainer, but it’s not the end of the world, especially when this one is sooooo pretty.

This is a great all-in-one matcha set. It comes with the bowl and chase to mix up the matcha. I love how wide the bowl is so it gives you a good range of motion to be able to mix it thoroughly to desired consistency. The bowl also has several different spouts making it so simple to pour into the cup. The chasen holder is a great addition to the kit. The chasen is very simple to clean, I just rinse with some soap and water and let it air dry. I personally do not use the teaspoon and found it easier to use a regular teaspoon. Nonetheless, great matcha making kit.

Really nice matcha set! I don't think I'm buying any more bad matcha at coffee shops. Took me 2 mins to make a matcha latte and 1 min to clean the set. It's really practical and easy to use. Nothing complex to it, just drop matcha, add water, mix, serve. I didn't so more than 3 tablespoons of liquid at a time when I have used it, but I didn't really feel it get hot, I could handle it from the bottom with no issue. Haven't had a problem with it with over 4 uses so far. Made my matcha really smooth and yummy :)

first, the whisk is nothing like pictured. second, the bowl sucks because it is so hard to grip and impossible to pour out anything. third, the stand is cracked

I practice Chanoyu, the Japanese tea ceremony and am licensed through the Urasenke Foundation in Kyoto. I often do presentations at the local Japanese gardens and also have friends over for tea, so I have been supplementing my collection of chawan (tea bowls) with some less precious pieces so that I can have my guests use things that are authentic, but not extremely valuable. This set fit the bill in every way, and came with some great extras at a phenomenal price.This is a large chawan (tea bowl), but it is not overly-large. I have some in my collection that are bigger. The blue celadon glaze is very pretty, especially for a porcelain bowl, and it is nice enough that I can use it in my tea room. In traditional tea ceremony, you probably wouldn’t use a bowl like this except for very informal situations, but this is absolutely perfect for daily use or for newcomers who might be intimidated by a valuable or fragile one-of-a-kind chawan.The chasen (whisk) is exactly like ones I get in Japan, and so is the chashaku (tea scoop). This would be a fantastic set for anyone beginning tea lessons, but it would also be great to elevate the tea experience for people who just enjoy matcha without wanting to commit to formal lessons or licensing.Mine arrived exactly as the photos show, so I have no idea why some negative reviews talk about the spout or how hard it is to pour from this. You aren’t supposed to pour from a chawan — you’re supposed to drink from it. Also, for people talking about heat transfer if the bowl is too full, that’s not how you use a chawan. At the very most, you would only use about four ounces of water. If you’re filling the bowl halfway, you’re doing it wrong. If you are new to making tea with traditional Chanoyu teaware, I’d suggest looking up some videos. There are scores of them available online.I’ve attached some photos so you can see how pretty this is with more traditional teaware. It fits in perfectly with very expensive hand-made items. I’m also including photos for size and quality comparisons. On the left are the various pieces of this set compared to more traditional pieces on the right. Of course you can see a quality difference, because these items cost MUCH more than what you get in the set, but I’m showing them side-by-side to illustrate that this affordable set is all authentic, even if it is mass-produced. A lot of the sets available out there are practically unusable, or the dimensions are way off. This particular set is directly in line with standard shapes and sizes. Again, this would make an absolutely wonderful starter set for someone new to tea, or for a casual tea lover who wants to have the authentic ceremonial aspects of tea without having to take formal lessons. In any case, this is a fantastic value, and I definitely recommend it!

Although this set is super cute and the the bamboo whisk works as expected, the bowls get very hot when full of hot liquid. It is fine if you are making a very small amount of Matcha, since it would fall below where you might grab the edge. But when I filled it half way, it became too hot. Perhaps one would never make more than a small cup at a time in traditional tea making? I do love the little stand!
