Decent vacuum. The app is the biggest issue, it needs improvement though, it's has bugs that make it annoying to use.

Wow what an amazing cleaning robot to have in your home. Setting this up was a breeze and I was able to have it fully ready to start mapping my place within minutes of downloading the app. They did a really good job at developing the app. Having lidar to map your home is so much better than any other method because it's able to see its surroundings almost instantly and it's bit a laser too. Its cleaning ability is amazing too and it doesn't mop on carpets which I thought was so cool and never even considered I needed due to my rugs.It vacuums really well and it mops amazingly too. It really does do everything I want it to do. You do have to make sure to clean its underside every now and then as hair does tangle up inside. But it comes with a built in cleaning tool that makes it easier for you.

Gotta say that this model Roomba is outstanding! At first setup I was able to quickly and easily map out our entire first floor which allowed the robot cleaner to make it's way around the house vacuuming up dog hair and other debris. I wouldn't say it's perfect at vacuuming dog hair... but I've since started running it twice a day it's doing a good job of getting most of the hair in the high traffic areas. THat is a another great feature in the mobile app is the ability to mark certain areas of your floor plan as "high traffic".After the initial map was created I went back and spent about 5mins to separate the first floor into rooms so I can easily have the Roomba run in the dining room, living room, or kitchen. Also I'm able to mark areas to NEVER clean and ignore, which is nice for cluttered rooms like our laundry room floor or the area where the dog beds are.So far the battery life is solid and the robot cleaner can tackle the whole first floor and vacuums for about 45minutes.I've only used the mop feature one time so far and was impressed by it being able to clean up the dog paw marks on the wooden kitchen floor. I didn't use any chemicals as I wasn't sure that would be ok, but I'll have to actually read up on the app on best mopping usage.

This vacuum is awesome and relatively affordable. I love that it's bagless so you don't have to keep buying bags and creating more waste. It's very easy to dump out the debris container and wash it clean. It also comes with a little brush and cutter tool that helps detangle anything caught up in the rollers. Overall I think it's a really thoughtfully designed vacuum robot and it does everything I need.Note that it requires 2.4GHz wifi to connect to the app. In the app you can set where you want it to clean and what type of cleaning you want it to do, whether just vacuum, just mopping, or both. And select the level of suction and level of mopping wetness. I find it handy that you can do a weekly cleaning schedule so it's all automated. But I think one limitation is after you set the schedule, you can't change what type of cleaning you need it to do. I'm not sure if I'm just missing something, but there's no way to see or edit what the robot is doing during the scheduled cleaning after you set it.I don't really like that it didn't come with any instruction manual, you just have to look it up online, but it's not hard to figure out all the basic features from the app.It can also work without the app if you don't want that, you just press the power button and it starts going by itself, but then you don't have the schedule and detailed cleaning selection options. The battery life is pretty good, I mostly have it doing my main floor area which is primarily kitchen and living room and it can do that in less than an hour on one charge. It comes with 2 mop pads, which is quite handy since you can have one in the wash and another always ready to go.

Reviewing this Roomba is quite difficult because of the disparity between the robot itself and the app we need to use. I've owned Roombas in the past, as well as other brands. In fact, my very first robovac over a decade ago was a Roomba, before LiDAR was the norm and your robot would just bump around randomly until it thought it was done.Over time, other brands showed up and Roomba stopped being the king, even if it's the most well known brand. It would sell, in my opinion, overpriced robots that wouldn't even do what other brands were selling for much less. Now, with this 105 model, I'm glad I was finally able to try an affordable Roomba that also has all the basic features you'd expect from a robovac nowadays, like having at the very least a mop pad, LiDAR and an app to use and map everything. The robot itself is perfectly fine. It looks good, feels durable and works as well as you could hope for a $250-350 robovac. The mopping is very basic, and a far cry from models that have active mops, but it'll give you some minimal cleaning if you want to use it. It doesn't have a self-emptying base or anything fancy, but if you want a "basic" robot that has good suction power and that doesn't feel cheap, this is a very decent unit. The thing is, iRobot felt like they needed to come out with a brand new app called Roomba Home, and so far, it's truly awful. Pairing the robot was easy, but after that it wanted me to map my home, but would also tell me at the same time I couldn't start the operation because there was an ongoing update. That's all good, but the update took well over an hour for some reason, and the app would only tell me it was still ongoing when I would try to start mapping. It also would sometimes just stop responding or take me to empty tabs which led me to restart the app a few times. Even when I needed to cancel the mapping operation at first, the app told me the robot would be going back to its base, but it didn't, and then the Home tab just sat there completely empty, and there was nothing I could do besides restart the app once more and manually put the robot on its base. And the problems persisted even after the map was created. It really feels like we're beta testing an app right now.And that's the main problem with this robot, really. I know iRobot has been having financial problems, and it sadly does show. It feels like they're trying to turn things around in a rush before it's too late. The app clearly wasn't ready to be released and it feels like it could be decent someday, but not right now. Also, even if the robot feels nice, it also looks quite generic in a way. Now, that may be part of the rebrand, but it doesn't have the classic big Roomba power button or the looks of what made a Roomba a Roomba. Really, it just kind of looks like a good quality, but pretty generic robovac you could buy anywhere online. That's why I can't rate this Roomba higher than that. It does make me a little sad to see the brand being where it is right now, but I'm not sure releasing a super buggy app with a total visual rebranding is the greatest idea. The king might just become another card in the deck at this point.

Vacuums ok but mopping isn’t great. The dust pan in the front requires removing it from charging station. The app isn’t the greatest and could be better as it doesn’t always register cleanings and resuming cleaning after a battery charge break.

This is my first robot vacuum and I must say I am quite impressed with the technology that goes into the bot. Watching it navigate the space and create its own cleaning pattern to cover the entire area is really impressive. We have three dogs in the house so this is probably a more demanding space for the vacuum but it does manage a decent job at picking up the bulk of the hair. Also since it is automated, I can easily run it every day or two so that it has less to pick up when it runs.My first impressions where mostly good but had some issues setting things up in the app. The instructions are clear and lead you to download the app after unboxing the bot and the base. The app requires an account as expected, once complete I was able to easily pair and name my vacuum, so far so good. I then followed the instructions to map the area, it did go around to rooms to map everything but once it was done I was no super impressed with how the rooms looked on the app. I feel like it didn't really match my house layout and split the rooms up poorly. I figured maybe I could remap it to improve it so I let it do it again, it ran through the house but did not create a new map. I then figured I would split and merge the rooms to get it closer to my actual layout but no matter what I tired I got an error message and would not let me. I ended up deleting the map, rebooting the robot, and remapping the room. This time I also moved some of the furniture out of the way so that it would get a clear view of the walls. This second map is much better, I can actually look at it and know which part of the home it is referring to. I was also able to split and merge the rooms up to be as accurate as possible (no errors this time), and was able to rename the rooms. Other small issues I have noticed is sometimes it will report as vacuuming while on the base, could be confusing if running it while away from the home. The robot itself though is very cool, I am shocked at how quiet it is considering it is a vacuum, its obviously not silent but really not very loud and not an unpleasant noise. The self guidance, object avoidance, and stair avoidance seems excellent to me, as mentioned in the intro, watching it do its thing is super impressive. It's low profile also helps it get under some furniture which is great. The dust bin is not very large and fills up quick with dog hair in our house but it can still do the whole floor well before dumping out the content. The mop part, not sure how much I will use it to be honest. I was hoping I could just leave water in it as well as the mopping pad and I could let it clean the whole upstairs (floors and carpets) and it would mop the floors. In theory this is possible but I found that it really struggles on the carpet with the mop attachment, it can't even return home as it needs to back up to the base but with the mop pad it is unable to do so on my carpet. I could move the base off the carpet and onto the floor but I have no real good spot for it on the floor. However I can pick it up, put it in the kitchen and have it mop then when done I physically put it back on the base. It is not as automated but I already need to add the mop pad and fill up some water so its simply an extra step.Overall I am very happy with this robot vacuum, it is in a tough environment with three dogs but manages to keep the floors cleaner and with little intervention from me. The app glitches are unfortunate but I do hope this can be fixed in the future through some updates. I personally like playing around with this stuff but I think if my parents had the same experience they may not have kept it.

We named him Mo! He's a great product, I know this sounds silly but I generally feel more motivated to clean (dishes, laundry, take out the garbage) when he's cleaning. He really does a great job!!

I ordered this robot vacuum to keep the top floor of my bungalow clean without the last-minute rush before guests arrived. My goal was to maintain a consistent cleaning schedule rather than scrambling to tiddy up.The setup was surprisingly simple, and the Android iRobot Home App made it easy to get everything configured. Mapping the floor took about two hours, and the vacuum was thorough in learning the layout. One tip for anyone setting it up, make sure the floor is completely clear during mapping, or you’ll find yourself moving things around at the last second haha! I also got it to work through Google Assistant, which is also an added bonusOverall, for under 350$, I’m extremely happy with this little vacuum. It’s efficient, easy to use, and has made my cleaning routine way more manageable. I would recommend it.

Idk if mine was defective, but:+App crashed and got out of sync with the robot many times.+The mapping function with lidar worked, but the customization tools just kept throwing errors.+Then the actual cleaning logic was awful. It is an apartment with some stuff granted, but it kept getting stuck in chairs for no apparent reason. It could take up to 10 minutes to go around chair and table legs.+Cannot return to base if the base is in the carpet?+At some point could not locate the base, which I can accept sometimes, but go 15 mins in the same place and twice banging a wall for no apparent reason. So, returning. Maybe in a large room with not obstacle it could be useful, it could work but app and logic seem like from 10 years ago. I would go with the competition , there is a reason why roomba is losing market share. Also in reviews it is always last on everything, vacuum power, capacity etc.Pretty disappointed.

I will never live without a Roomba in my house again.Over a decade ago I got an early version of a Roomba, this was long before apps or sophisticated mapping. The device was good for picking up dog hair and dust, but it moved around unintentionally and got stuck on a lot of things. I liked it, but it was a hassle at times.Wow, has iRobot coma a long way! Along comes this incredibly improved version that is still simple to run but has SO MANY great features:1. Lidar Mapping: I'm incredibly impressed at how this device wandered around during setup to learn my space. I could follow along on the app and see how it recognized doorway openings, moved around furniture and generally understood where to clean. If you haven't used a robot with this feature, you'll find it impressive!2. Mopping: To be fair, this is really more like "wet dusting" on the standard setting. It does have the ability to find and dig into bigger messes, but I prefer to do that with my manual mop. As someone who is allergic to but still lives with dog hair and dust, this is a great feature that generally keeps my whole house cleaner.3. Easy to empty/change pads: The design of this device makes maintenance easy IMHO. Changing out brushes, paddles and mop covers is quick and easy. Yeah, they give you directions, but I didn't need to read them.4. Overall design: This robot fits well under most couches and into corners all over my house. While there are some places it can't clean completely, those are easy to find through the app, so I know where to touch up when I need to do a manual clean. The water reserve is easy to fill and holds enough water for a few days of cleaning in my house. The quality and durability for this device at this price point is really impressive. (At time of writing, the list price is $320, with a 40% discount so the total is under $200.) This is available for the price point for a decent stick vac, and I'd have to manually run that! There are a few improvements I would like to see in this product, but they are mainly related to the app, which I'm sure will be updated over time. While the app does a good job of connecting to the wifi and mapping, sometimes it just doesn't respond when I try to start an unscheduled clean. Programming scheduled cleans are easy, but the readout could be improved so that I could tell if the cleaning is mop+vac or vac only without deleting the whole automation and starting over. The screens are sometimes very magnified on initial load, so I can't find my map at all. Basically, it seems like an early generation, so it needs to evolve a bit. The hardware works well, but I will say that it is only OK at avoidance detection for small objects (dog toys) or small pets. It does avoid furniture, boxes and people pretty well. For me, the superiority of the hardware makes up for the shortcomings of the software, and it's still GOOD software. As an introduction to robot vacuums, this is a wonderful appliance to have, and if you've used less sophisticated versions, you'll definitely be impressed.

This Roomba was easy to set up and get going, but it couldn't map our open-plan home -- in other words, we don't have a lot of walls/hallways and it still couldn't get a comprehensive map. Instead it got about halfway through the house and just gave up, even though it was nowhere near its home base at that point. We're going to reset and charge and try again; I'll update if it works, but until then it doesn't do us much good.
