I have been a long time user of Roomba's for my workplace. I liked the idea of the compactor, because it it mean't I could get rid of the towers. I also was excited about the use of lidar. So I ordered 2. However one of them completely malfunctioned and I am sending it back. The other would act like it was stuck, even though there was nothing to be stuck on. I love Roomba's and I very much wanted these to do what they should do, but they didn't. Also, this was my first time updating to the new Roomba app and performance wise, the Roomba Classic app was much better.

This works really well cleaning/mapping both my upstairs and downstairs. I love it but it did have some initial battery issues and the app can be a bit buggy sometimes.I almost returned it in the first couple days because it would not charge and would immediately die after slipping off of the dock no matter what it said the charge was and how long it charged for. Unplugging and re-plugging the battery fixed that (a hard/full reset may help also, but I didn't have to do that). The run-time still seemed a bit short for another day or two but now it can run over >75 minutes on hard floors and >50 minutes on carpet before needing to re-charge. The app will also occasionally (one or twice a week) stop showing live views of the cleaning on the app and saving the new runs to the cleaning history ... but restarting the Roomba fixes that. I'm hoping some of the issues with the app are improved over time.Apart from the initial setup issues, the Roomba is working great. The mapping works really well, and it does a great job keeping the house clean. I have it scheduled to automatically clean a few different rooms every night. It also works well for a 2nd floor after making a map for it. I just have to carry it upstairs, but it down anywhere, and after cleaning the rooms I select o the app it returns the original location that it started from.

Well I hate to write a bad review for a product but unfortunately this is getting one. Unboxing was piece of cake: open box, take out roomba, charge cord and base. Plug in the charger base, pop on the spin brush, place robot on charger base. It talks to you and tells you to set up robot. Downloaded NEW roomba app as the older app only works for the older robots (I have two other Roombas, an S9+ and J6). Anyways, set up is easy, connect to network and it’s now ready to map my house. Gets to mapping and does my large space pretty quickly. Yay! Seems to be great. So let’s do cleaning now - nope. Wants to map again. Okay, so now let’s do cleaning, nope, again it wants to do a map. Stuck in a loop of making a map. Never cleaned a dang thing. This is day one, Over it. Packing it up and returning. The vacuum might be great but who would know if the software that runs it is poor?

We're absolutely thrilled with our Roomba! The time-saving aspect alone is worth it, but the whole experience has been fantastic. The app is intuitive and makes scheduling and customizing cleans a breeze (my husband also loves to follow its progress on the map).We were also pleasantly surprised by how quiet it is - a huge plus for our 6lb miniature dachshund, who always barks at the vacuum. It navigates under furniture with ease, reaching those previously hard-to-clean spots - it fits under our beds, chairs, dressers - you name it! We have all sorts of flooring in our apartment and it transitions seamlessly between our hardwood floors, area rugs and carpet. Listen to this - we ran it for the first time AFTER we had our apartment professionally cleaned and it still picked up SO MUCH DUST AND DIRT!I also want to point out the customer service team via the Roomba app was AMAZING. My husband originally tried setting it up while I wasn't home - so there was a bit of a learning curve and troubleshooting. Once I took over with David G from customer service, we had everything up and running with no issues!A truly worthwhile investment for any home!

The machine is very quiet. The LiDAR is nice I can run it in the dark so I run it at 6am since I barely hear it, the AC is louder than it is. I don’t hear it slamming into furniture like its predecessor, it navigates very respectfully. I wish they updated the battery, it still doesn’t cover my living room in one charge so I split the job to different days because I don’t like when it starts back up hours later, just do the job or don’t. The dust bin is much bigger and with the compactors I’m excited to not have to empty it every 2 jobs. The bin lifts straight up, it’s intuitive to remove and reinstall the bin. Feels lower maintenance and more fun to use. I like watching it clean from the app it has a type of radar that’s fun to watch. It talks but I can never hear or understand it, glad I can silence it I rather it didn’t talk at all and just send me a notification.

We have dogs, BIG sheddy German Shepherds. We are inundated with dog hair, and if you have German Shepherds, you know what I'm talking about. And I have wood floors that I like to keep clean, but I hate maintaining the machine (cleaning it out, etc, I know, first world problems). So, when Roomba launched this "less emptying" model, I jumped on it. It was far cheaper that the model with the dock that does the automatic emptying. It cleans the floor beautifully, is quieter than previous models I've had and picks up all that German Shepherd hair.
